[Photoshop] Suzuya Smudge (+coloring)

Okk... So let me just say that I LOVE smudges. They're probably my fav type of tags. I have tried way, way, WAY too many times to make a smudge tag (trust me, a LOT of times). But each one I ended up discarding. This is my first one that I thought was ehh, not too bad. I love smudges so much, but uggh I'm the worst at them. With that said, I would appreciate a loottt of feedback!

Wow, I love that smudge, it's almost flawless. Maybe more light sources, and text would have removed the emptiness on the left. Also I didn't like the darkened edges, they don't fit well. Really nice work with the smudge though, you did a good job with the touches too. And nice color choices :3

The coloring on the other hand, always a great job

Thanks! Haha, it's just that I always look at the SUPER good smudges and I'm like damn,, how..? ;p (it's such a bad habit I aalways do that D: ) But you're so right, thank you so much again! ^^

Thanks! Omgg I was trying to add text but I gave up since I couldn't find a fitting font. Yeahh, I agree. I was having such a hard time with the edges... They were too bright at first so I darkened them... Then I thought it was too dark, wanted to brighten them and I was like ?? ok I need to stop.. x)

Welcome! (If you wanted to do the name) A straightforward font like "Arial/Narrow" for the first name matched up with a simple fancy font for the surname. Should've worked IMO. Also for the darkened edges, maybe you could've played with the layers instead of just splashing the brushes on top of everything. I mean like get 3 lines of smudges in front of the darker edges layer, and with a motion-blur, depth would've come in. You can the same thing with the text. At least that's what I might do.

I discarded atleast 100 tags I tried with this style. Its so darn hard to concentrate xD

For your first finished attempt, its good. I would have liked a bit more vibrancy with the colors, but you manipulated it to your style, so its good enough
I'm not too fond of the bright light in the middle of the tag, its a bit too bright for me, but meh.

If you added text, it would have been a bit hard with the placement of the render and the rule of thirds logic. If you did add text though, something simplistic would have sufficed.

LoL at the lineart absent coloring. I try to do the same when I color and it looks way more horrid >_>

About the tag,
I think its not quite balanced, the lighting for starters is less on the lower left side of the render, which kinda stands out.
Plus I think there should have been more smudge but that's just me

Colors for the smudge are so unusual, and yet so unique and so in your style. I like that more than anything else.
And smudge itself is really good for the first time, but when I am looking at it I sense that you didn't really know what to do with certain things, so some lines look kind of shaky. If that makes any sense. Lol
And oh, I love that blending. I always end up not knowing how to bled my focal with smudge but you really did it almost perfect.
