Even the I love Itachi it would be difficult for him to go head to head with Jiraiya but for some weird reason I wouldnt be able to see them fighting at all. More on the same team I think they would be a VERY strong Duo they probably could actually take Nagato with his 6 Paths just the 2 of em.
I know I made a thread earlier about Itachi being invincible n all, but I only just remembered how awesome my favorite character in the whole world is....or was...
Anyway, this is how Itachi loses:

As you all know, even the invincible combination of Yata Mirror and Totsuka no Tsurugi cannot protect from hypnotic sound waves, and since Genjutsu is rarely cast with sound, Itachi does not have any experience in it, just like Nagato.
Also, Jiraiya was the only person in history, other than Sasuke himself, who pushed Itachi to his very limits, forcing him to use Amaterasu inside Iwagama's stomach to break out. And mind you all, it took Jiraiya, one jutsu in order to do that! The Legendary status is not for games!
So in conclusion, Itachi will lose to him, and Ero Sennin is forever awesome! I miss you Jiraiya!
Well I'm not so sure Itachi would win. I think his biggest challenge is catching Jiraiya in a genjutsu before he goes into Sage Mode. Once in Sage Mode, Itachi would be fighting against, 3 oppenents in which Ma and Pa could snap him out of any genjutsu Itachi might place him under. Now as far as Tsukuyomi, Ma and Pa might use that opportunity to place Itachi under their frog song unless Itachi can place all 3 of them under Tsukuyomi. Honestly this would be one bad ass match to see. It could go either way. I'd say Itachi would win once Susanoo is called but that would just kill Itachi's remaining chakra due to his sickness.
yes he can avoid sound genjutsu. he is master for genjutsu mean he will know how to get out. u think itachi will let him use it? i still think itachi will win low - mid difficult while already proof that oro is stronger than jiraiya and itachi stronger than oro which mean itachi is stronger than jiraiya.

Jiraiya is subliminally and internally connected to toads! I dont think he will fall for any sort of Genjutsu that easy. Also...with all the knowledge in Jiraiya's head, why would he directly look at an Uchiha? He is obviously immune to Genjutsu!
Also... Jiraiya forced Itachi to use Amaterasu with just one of his many awesome jutsus! I am telling you the Legendary status is not for play!

I only wish itachi showed serious so we will know for sure.. itachi only acting toward jiraiya and whole itachi that we saw was mostly acted.. Remember itachi is very intellgence and he know about jiraiya i bet he won't let him become sage mode etc etc.. the fact said jiraiya is very weak to genjutsu.. if sage mode then probably he can immune genjutsu.. remember TK can't be disrupt (sorry bad spelling)
Jiraiya had Gerotora inside him, also.... his stomach was connected to Iwagama, so his chakra was too. Trust me...the Legendary status is not something to play around with! I agree with the fact that Itachi was only making it look like he was trying to capture Naruto, but Jiraiya takes this by logic man.
