Man of Steel is a non sequel and it beat Iron Man 3 in some categories.

Hahaha this is a new one, am i missing something here? since when are superhero movies supposed to be realistic?Superman´s newest movie might not be the best BUT is far from the worst among superhero movies.

Besides superhero movies have NEVER been considered good or bad based on how realistic they are, they are judged based on the story,fighting scenes,how well the actors performed their roles, how close to the actual comic book the movie is etc etc BUT NEVER based on how realistic they are THAT IS WHY they are awesome in the first place because they are fantasy NOT realistic ; that´s the whole point of having superheroes...they surpass and can do things not possible in real life.
