I wonder about Itachi being the youngest member of ANBU at age 10-11. That particular statement comes from a regular member of ANBU who said it in front of Yamato. Yamato was a secret member of ROOT at around the age of 6. Root is a secret division of ANBU. This would make Yamato the youngest member by around five years over Itachi. Yamato didn't correct the regular member because it was, you know, a secret.

It might be that Root only counts as a training division and that full membership counts as something different but I think the Manga and the Anime both make it clear that Root is more than just a pre school version of ANBU (plus Root wear official masks). In which case Itachi would only be the youngest ever official member of the organisation. Both Itachi being the youngest member and the age of Yamato when he joined Root are Anime only facts (.. I think …I was checking it out for a theory not that long ago…sigh).

The Wiki ignores the context of the statement about Itachi being the youngest ever member.

Good facts though.

Itachi graduated at the academy at 6 then immediately joined anbu so he joined at 6!

Itachi joined the academy age 6, passed age seven and passed the Chuunin exam age 10. Six months after becoming a Chuunin he was given a mission that if successful (which it almost certainly was) would result in him becoming a member of ANBU.

Yamato joined and graduated the Academy age six, also passed the test to become a Chuunin age six. Danzo kept Yamato secret which is the only reason why anyone would think Itachi was the youngest ever ANBU. If you discount the Anime, which is the only place this is developed, then you also dismiss the only source that claims Itachi was the youngest ever member of ANBU (age 11). I might be wrong but I think that's how it fits together.

If you go by the Manga only we don't really have any frame of reference. It's only with the databooks and the anime where we get the details upon which to compare within the wider verse.

Wait Kakashi is the most famous ANBU ever? I thought it was Itachi. He literally put the world's 1st/2nd strongest clan in history out by himself (of course Obito helped).

I think you got one wrong. I believe Minato became hokage at an earlier age than hiruzen.
