There is something I never understood, how do you decide which summon you want to summon?
All the summoning techniques work the same way so how do you decide if you want to summon Gamabunta over Gamaken for example?

I has to do with how much chakra you put in to the summoning. and maybe mentally visualizing who you want to summon, or by calling the name of the summon. example: summoning jutsu, monkey king enma. boom he appears.

The visualizing thing would make more sense, sometimes they dont even call the name of the summon so it cant be it.

the chakra theory works to a certain extent but Pain's summons would negate that possibility, pain was able to summon his beasts for specific circumstances, like when he needed to wash away Jiraiya's oil he summoned the crab.

Naruto calls the name of the toad he wants. The other times where the name isnt called is because the users only have 1 summon

Pain doesnt yell the name of the summon and he has many different ones so you're wrong.

Why you being rude bro U_U? The rinnegan is different, pein is summoning corpses and they're all linked via the rinnegan and chakra rods. So i am in fact right....

You immediately jumped to conclusions and said i was wrong, you could've just brought up the point about pein, no need to try and make it clear.

Anyways, no what makes the most sense is that nagato is connected to his summons and so he knows what animal hes gonna use because he can feel it through the chakra rods, thus removing the need to call out the summons names.

Awww, alright. Still I was right.

nagato didn't need to say the n ame of the summon when he was fighting Naruto and Bee

They have chakra rods, and shared vision, meaning that they are still linked to nagato
