I was just thinking how you have to sacrifice some blood to perform a summoning jutsu. Usually, ninjas cut their thumb with their teeth to seep out some blood. My question is do they ever get an infection lol? I know that may be a silly question but if they are in a heat of battle, their hands I bet get undoubtedly dirty. So, when they cut open their thumb, can't bacteria sneak inside? But then again, there are medical ninja.

Idk, I just thought about this so it may sound dumb but I just wanted to write it down before I forget about...(which I should have just done lol)

My guess is that they use their saliva to party close the wound, since saliva can do that with minor cuts.

If a ninja died to insignificant bacteria they deserved to die...

Itachi is an example of that. One to many crow summons.

Weren't they mainly Genjutsu related?

Itachi got a disease since he overused his eyes and it affected his immune system.

Sorry but Itachi died to Sasuke :D

I'm pretty sure it's common knowledge that Itachi died to Moegi

your immune system stopping completely won't kill you. Germs and bacteria in a weak immune system will.
and no he could summon physical crows like the one he stored his best friend's eye in.

so he died from a virus entering his wound probably from summoning requiring a blood sacrifice, and his body couldn't fend off the infection because of his weakened immune system, sasuke was a scape goat, cause he didn't want people to know he effectively solo'ed himself.

I get minor cuts on my fingers regularly because of my job, it's not a big deal since they heal quickly. For ninjas who can brush off their limbs being torn off tiny wounds like that are nothing.
