Several years have passed in the academy and Matius is now an adult. There is a ceremony held with Sousan watching. Matius is promoted to squad leader, much to his and everyone’s excitement. After the ceremony both Ivan and Dervish are sword fighting, Dervish now a grown man has grown strong with his power and fighting skills. Ivan meanwhile fighting one handed, which proves to be a weakness. Matius is given his first assignment as he leads his own squad out into the wildlands, looking for lost traders. They do find them and Matius is happy with no casualties. Realising Dervish has passed his expectations Ivan does something drastic and injects (something like a steroid/demon dna into his arm. Changing it). Both Ivan and Dervish duel once more and both are equally matched. Sousan is impressed while Dervish looks in annoyance.
Dervish walks with Ivan down the corridors seeing a portrait of Sousan’s brother ‘Kravos’. Dervish grows interested, Ivan however states that Kravos was a monster, all he wanted was power. In secret Dervish thinks how he would like the throne (seeing Sousan is always looking down on him). Matius gets a letter from his mother, smiling to himself. He and his squad are given another task, to go into the wildlands and kill a growing family of carnivous beasts (because they threaten the wildlife and could too over populated. Plus people have been going missing In this camp). Matius heads out. At hell angels approach the south gates (with a permit), which Ivan investigates. The angels turn out to be heretics killing several soldiers and severely injuring Ivan’s arm. (burnt to the bone) Sousan looks in dismay while Dervish looks in rage, questioning that hell should send an army to heaven.
Matius and his men camp for the night; they do get attacked by the beasts. Many soldiers get injured some die, but they succeed in celebration. Back in hell Ivan recovers with his arm now skeletal (thanks to medical magic). Ivan heads into his dormitory to find Dervish waiting for him. He explains that Sousan is getting old and both should mercifully kill him, both ruling hell together. Ivan declines and watches Dervish exit through the window through the rain.
Matius and his men arrive back in hell. They drink in celebration until Dervish interrupts their celebration. He explains about his plan to bring hell to a higher level asking them to join his clan, for a new world, new ruler, new order. Some of Matius’s men leave. Ivan meets Sousan in the throne room, explaining his conversation with Dervish and Dervish secretly building a clan in his name. Dervish is then later assassinated by some of Sousan’s men In the silent of night. Matius starts to doubt his job as he’s given a new assignment with new men. Hunting down some heretic angels in order to save a captive. The assignment goes horribly wrong, as one of his men is a heretic angel in disguise, he gets angry and gets a bollocking off from his superior.
Next day memorial is held for Dervish’s funeral, his dead body is burnt by the fire. Sousan tells Ivan, that he is the one that has Dervish killed. No one else knows. Several days later people start getting killed by unknown thing, some label it as cloud of ash. Matius starts having nightmares and is given another assignment to fight angels, he fights angels and is about to kill a young angel no older than 17 years of age. Matius questions, why he is fighting, do heaven and hell have to be this way. Some day’s later Dervish returns with a body of ash (using his power he kills people and taking their blackened bodies as his own). Talks to members of his clan and is ready for revenge, ready to kill Sousan and take the throne for himself. Huge civil war breaks out as Dervish’s cult and Royal soldiers attack each other, many of Matius’s men die. Matius visits his mum informing he’s had enough of the army, aware of the madness outside.
