I. Kishi said the story is gonna be tame/light

But if she does die, I think she'll sacrifice herself or get killed by the Nue, instead of being killed by a ninja.

Based on the episode preview, nothing states them being in a state of depression post-Nue events, though. I don't care how you try to spin it, even the episode afterwards explains that the children are worried about the upcoming test.
