I wish to learn Suiton because it is one of my favourite elements in Naruto and this RP, and it has the most applications of any of the basic 5 that I've seen. Having used Suiton in a couple of mock spars, I enjoyed the variety of uses I had when using it, and I came up with some combo's that I did not know would be achievable. Suiton's weakness is Doton, Earth Release, because Suiton's method of attack is mainly streams or even waves of water, something Doton defends against easily. Suiton is strong against Katon, Fire Release, because Fire is created by the combination of heat, fuel and oxygen. Water is naturally a cold liquid, and that eliminates the heat fire needs to sustain itself. While water has oxygen, the oxygen is so tightly bound to hydrogen that the oxygen cannot react to anything else. Thus, the oxygen is taken away from the fire as a result. Five users of Suiton include Momochi Zabuza, Hoshigaki Kisame, Hatake Kakashi, Hozuki Suigetsu, and of course Senju Tobirama. Suiton is part of, but not limited to, two Kekkei Genkai: Mokuton - Wood Release and Hyoton - Ice Release.

A little bit more about water element.

Water is a more or less passive element by nature. It flows freely and takes the shape of whatever it is contained in. I call it passive as it is a yielding element which goes and flows however the external forces and nature dictate it to. For example; still water will move and ripple at the slightest touch, a river flowing straight will move around a rock and take an alternate direction instead of just going through the rock. Wind can cause water to move in different directions. This is one of the reasons why water, a yielding element, is opposite to earth, an unyielding element. That rock in the bank of the river will not move for the water, it will stay firm. If the rock were to walk through the river straight, the water would go around the rock, not the other way around. This is a rudimentary understanding, however water itself can be very powerful and forceful. A large enough mass of water may disroot the rock if strong enough. Water may be condensed to a fine area and move at great speeds to cause a powerful impact. That is where variables come in, which is what any element manipulates, the variables of the properties that can enhance an element's potential. If you want to look at things in terms of balance, Taoism and philosophies behind water and it's general movement. Water is the Yin half, not forceful, yielding and water redirects energy instead of meeting it head on. The Chinese Internal styles of martial arts talk about redirecting your opponents force back onto them which is essentially a property of water (the redirection that is). Force is not met with force rather the force is allowed to continue until redirected suddenly, often times against even harder forces that are much stronger. An example would be if somebody were to punch you. They are traveling in one direction at a certain speed. You simply move out of the way while guiding the fist further in that direction, increasing the speed. Should there be a wall behind them, they make impact with that wall and most often hurt their hand.

Besides that rest is good. Any questions?

Alright. So take this piece of paper from Castiel's hand, and then cup it within your hands. Then try and send your chakra throughout the paper, if done right. The paper should become damp.

I walk towards the man, my sensei, and take the piece of paper from his hand and lay it flat in my own right hand. Closing my eyes, I then cup the paper in my right hand with my left as well, and attempt to send my chakra into the paper. After a few moments, I feel something about the paper within my cupped hands change. To see what it is, I take my left hand off and see the paper, but it is damp and slightly soggy.

Is that it?

One/three advantages:
  • 1. It costs little chakra.
  • 2. You have a few offensive options with this technique.
  • 3. You can use it in conjunction with other Suiton techniques, or use it for other techniques, since any water is a water source.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Does very little damage.
  • 2. Easy to overcome or defend against.
  • 3. Lack of defensive capability other than the aforementioned shield.
How you would use it in battle: I would use this technique as a diversion, since you can create different attacks that, while doing little damage, are enough to keep the opponent busy while you set up for other strategies or plans of attack. Since any water, whether created by a technique or just a natural feature of the environment, is a source of water, I can exploit the fact that this jutsu is a water source and use it to create other Water techniques.

How you would counter it: This jutsu lacks much potential to do a great deal of damage, so a simple Earth jutsu would do the trick. I could also use a Fire technique to neutralise it, and by doing so create a decent amount of mist that will obscure my opponent's view, giving me the element of surprise. In the occasion my opponent would form a water shield, I could just use a normal Raiton jutsu, since lightning passes through water as if it were flying through the air.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): Gathering water chakra into my hands at a continuous rate, I hold my hands at my chest. Once I have gathered a sufficient amount of Suiton chakra into the palms of my hands, I thrust forward, releasing a small shield of water in front of me. Utilising the shape changing nature of the technique, I then manipulate the water shield in such a way that it simply turns into a wave of water and floods towards a nearby object, sweeping it away. Once again, I use the shape changing nature of the technique to make several small blasts of water launch at a nearby tree.

Well done!

(Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

So by either using the two following options: Use a water source or releasing the mist from your mouth. You will create a thick mist again either out from your mouth, or turn the water source into a sort of mist. The mist thickness really depends on you, and how much chakra you want to put into it. This technique will make it hard for your target to see you, unless they have the Byakugan; Sharingan and Rinnegan users will have a hard time seeing you, just like a normal eyed ninja.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Gives you the advantage of being unseen.
  • 2. Allows you to launch surprise attacks.
  • 3. You can set up easily for other strategies or offensive tactics.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Can be seen through by the Byakugan.
  • 2. A simple wind technique can dispel it.
  • 3. The jutsu does not impair the opponent's hearing or smell. Inuzuka members can use this to their advantage and find you by scent.

How you would use it in battle: I would mainly use this technique to provide cover while I set up for attacks or other tactics. I would also use it to throw my opponent off and distract him, and by using this confusion to my advantage, I can launch a surprise attack.

How you would counter it: A simple wind technique would suffice, since the wind will blow the mist away easily, depending on the thickness. I could also use the Byakugan to simply find my opponent, since it is the only Dojutsu that allows me to see through the mist. I can also track down the opponent by my sense of hearing. Smell would only really be an option of which to locate the opponent if I am an Inuzuka member or I have a Dog summoning.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I gather Suiton chakra into my lungs and knead it continuously. Once I have completely kneaded a sufficient amount of chakra, I exhale the chakra in the form of mist, and it begins to spread across the surrounding area. Eventually, the mist becomes so thick that it seems as though I simply vanished into thin air.

Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.

Okay gather up some suiton chakra in your hands then use shape manipulation to change the chakra into a water sword, that is able to stab and cut like a normal blade.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. It's convenient. To create a weapon just with your chakra can come in handy.
  • 2. It doesn't require a water source, so it can be done on the fly.
  • 3. Is as dangerous as a real sword, so again, it's convenient to be able to create it on the fly.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Can be broken just as easily as a real sword.
  • 2. If struck with a Raiton technique, it would just hit you.
  • 3. This disadvantage isn't really too bad when compared to others, but there is a chakra cost if you get rid of it and make one again.
How you would use it in battle: I would use it in the same way as any other sword really, for CQC fights. I also have a question about this technique. Could I use a Wind technique to increase the lethality of the weapon, since Wind techniques usually boost the power of Suiton jutsu?

How you would counter it: By launching a Raiton technique at it. Since Lightning flows through water without resistance, it will simply go straight to the user. It may also break against a Doton technique, since Doton is an elemental weakness.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I hold my right arm up in front of me, my fingers fully outstretched. I gather Water chakra into my hand and focus it there. After gathering and focusing a sufficient amount, I then use shape manipulation on the chakra. Water then materialises in my hand in the shape of a sword, to which in reaction I clasp my fingers around it, gripping it firmly in my hand. I then walk over to a nearby tree, and practice a few cuts and slashes on it, ending my practice by stabbing the blade through the tree.

No not with that technique you can't.

(Suiton: Junsai no Jutsu) - Water Release: Water Shield Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will manipulate their water chakra and releasing it from their arm which is held outwards infront of them and they then create a shield of water that can aide in defence against projectile weapons and close combat techniques.

Gather your suiton chakra up in your arm then release it holding your arm outwards infront of you, thus creating a shield of water. This can protect you from low level earth techniques, and low level taijutsu techniques [D-rank only] and projectile weapons also.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Doesn't require a water source, so it's convenient.
  • 2. Has the same defensive ability as an actual shield.
  • 3. Does not require handseals.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Can only block Taijutsu and Doton techniques of a low level.
  • 2. Raiton will bypass the shield's protection.
  • 3. You cannot perform seals with it in your hand.
How you would use it in battle: I would use this to defend against techniques of lower levels except Raiton techniques, since this method of defence requires less effort than freeform.

How you would counter it: Taijutsu techniques exceeding D-Rank and any Doton techniques will have sufficient strength to break the shield. A Raiton technique will do the trick as well.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I hold my arm out in front of me and keep my palm completely open. I gather Suiton chakra into my arm and focus it into the palm of my hand, continuously focusing it. Once a sufficient amount of chakra has been gathered, I manipulate the chakra so that water forms. Utilising shape manipulation, I then shape the water into that of a shield.

(Suiton: Suiben) - Water Release: Water whip
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, supplementary
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: After the user performs a series of 3 hand seals Rat → Dog → Ox, the user creates a whip of water that can be used to strike the opponent with a lashing action or wrap around the target to bind them. This technique can also have lightning techniques channeled through when they have bound their victim with the water whip.

Perform the three seals, then gather your suiton chakra in your hands then use shape manipulation to create a whip of water. that you can whip around my clone, lighting techs can be channeled though the whip for a combo attack.

-Creates clone.-
