Rising out of the murky lagoon before you, the masked man soaking wet slowly drags his feet in your direction, weary from a tiresome battle. Placing his right hand in front of his chest, he begins to manipulate the water his clothes absorbed, pulling his hand away from his body to signify the extraction of moisture, forming that same liquid into a sphere of condensed water and tossing it towards you.

Think fast. Now, tell me all you know of Water Release.

The water element is weak against earth techniques... Its mostly used by the Mist ninja... the second hokage was the best Suiton user... You can create water clones... Water jutsu can be lethal when combine with Raiton... If there is any water sources around you then it can be used to launch a sneak attack if your opponent hasnt noticed the surrounding water... It can also be used with katon to create steam that can be usefull in combat... Although water is considered to be weak against earth if used correctly then no element is stronger...

Kakuzu listens attentively to his students recollection of Water release, taking note that his student has seen a few battles or has done some through research.

"Too basic of an explanation, you're going to have to put in a lot more work than that. I'll give you a run down of all of the basic elements (especially Suiton), to flesh out your understanding. Also, Water is weak to Earth because the solid walls dissipate and withstand the force of water techniques. Make sure to commit this to memory, it will be useful knowledge for the future. Once you've read and understood the following, we will continue."

Water is the most calm and free-flowing elements. These characteristics dictate its nature, making it useful in combat due to the fluidity and intense lack of control that is required to utilize it. Lightning and Fire take extreme control, but manipulation of water takes calmer movements and so controlling it comes more naturally. While its the calmest element, it can also become one of the most destructive. Putting a large amount of force behind of wave gives it power that can't be paralleled by all the other elements. In terms of scale, Water has the highest potential to be the "best" element, a clear testament of this is Kisame of the Akatsuki. Water comes in three main forms: normal water, sticky water and oily flammable water. As you correctly stated, Water is strong against Fire as it forcibly extinguishes the flames, whilst it is weak against earth and similar solid elements, since they both block and dissipate Suiton attacks.

Earth Release is often considered the element of sturdiness and durability. Unlike other elements which come and go with time, it is an ever eternal presence in the environment which endures all types of weather regardless of how harsh conditions become. Earth can be used as a shield or blockade defensively to dissipate the force of powerful waves of water or non-cutting gusts of wind. It can withstand great heats, acting as a heat sink but also as a physical barrier to prevent weapons passing through. Its strong against water, its natural ability to prevent water from passing through it whilst passing through water itself is a reason for this. However its weak against lightning. The lightning conducted along the earth causes it to break up, lose its natural composition and break down due to the penetrative abilities of Raiton. Doton can either be used in this solid rocky form or its adhesive mud-like variant, granting the element further versatility. As well as the conventional uses of the element, the mud variant can be used to bind opponents in place, clash with other elemental jutsus or be used in many effective combinations. The mud-variant is most commonly used along with Fire to form pseudo-lava (molten mud), making for a very dangerous substance.

Along with Suiton, its versatility stems from the state of matter it naturally occurs in. Due to having physical substance, Doton can be shaped into various structures from defensive walls to jagged spikes, from an earth dragon to a single pillar of earth. Furthermore, in terms of terrain-based advantage, Doton can be used to manipulate the ground beneath and around the opponent, allowing for limitless potential in creating successful combos. I like to think of the element as the perfect balance between offensive, defensive and supplementary usage, as no confines exist on what the user can create.

Wind Release is the element that allows us to create and manipulate wind. When you think of wind you think of something that is fast, free flowing, unpredictable, and strong. In the Narutoverse and in our RP, wind release has a variety of different properties which makes it versatile in its own right. For one, we have the ability to create long and short powerful gusts of flowing wind. Mainly these techniques that are designed to provide resistance against oncoming attacks, reversing the trajectory of weaponry, etc. We can also create short concentrated/compressed bursts of wind that give a pseudo solid form which can be used for blunt force or strong impacts. These would mainly be offensive in nature. There is also vacuum or suction power that can be generated, drawing objects in for close combat or sucking away the oxygen for suffocation. However, one of the more prominent abilities of wind release that we’ve come to know from the Narutoverse is the powerful cutting power that it possesses. Mainly from characters like Naruto, Asuma, and Sora, the wind nature has been shown to be able to slice and cut through things like butter. Wind is the movement of many gases in the air, though we’ve been shown to manipulate just the air itself and call it wind release by comparison due to the relationship.

Lightning Release is the use of high frequency and is the most fleeting of all the elements. It arguably takes the most control due to its dangerous nature and the lethality it possess. The interaction of the molecules within it, further contribute to its level of instability, requiring the user to take much more care in handling this element compared to the others. Fundamentally, its the control over raw streams of electricity which can be tamed with the right control, it relates most to the Fire element due to its destruction if not contained or used properly and the high level of self-control someone requires to manipulate it correctly. One common misconception is that Lightning release travels as fast as natural lightning, when in reality Lightning is far slower than its naturally occurring counterpart due the user taking control of/taming the lightning. The element itself occurs in three main forms: Normal Lightning, Plasma and pale-blue pillars which emit electricity.

Fire Release is the usage of superheated chakra to create flames and heat-intensive attacks. Its created through channeling Katon chakra to the user's lungs and exhaling the built chakra in various forms. Katon is most commonly used in its fire-based form, but it can also take the shape of a plume of superheated ash or a misty flammable gas. In terms of raw potential, its considered the least versatile element as it excels in offensive capabilities, lacks in supplementary usage and is ill-suited to use as a defensive element. Despite this, Katon is the most ferocious element to contend with due to its sheer raw power. The heat of the element makes it capable of reducing earthen structures to molten mud, the parasitic nature of it means it preys on the oxygen within wind-based attacks to supplement the flames and even against its elemental superior, large-scale Katon techniques are capable of reducing large bodies of water to scorching mist of dense steam. The Katon element has little usage outside of destruction, to a certain degree its the hardest elemental nature to tame due to its sporadic and uncontrollable nature.

Alright, come over here and place your outstretched palms upon the surface of this water source. After you do that, begin focusing your suiton chakra into it, before using that same chakra to generate a small wave of water, sending it towards a nearby tree. Once you become more acquainted with this technique, try to extract a sphere of water, aiming to maintain its form and structure, before stabilizing it and placing it back into the water source.

(Suiton No Jutsu) - Water technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Damage Points:20
Description: Creates small waves of water, small blasts, and small shields of water.
Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.

Key Points: Alongside its Earth counterpart, it is among the most useful lower ranking techniques in the jutsu list. Its versatility is seemingly infinite, as this technique can create nearly any water-based construct you desire, as long as its small in magnitude and size. Its best used for making waves, small tools, weapons ad shields.

(Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

Once you've completed that, I'd like you to come over and begin channeling your suiton chakra into your lungs, building up a sufficient amount of it before releasing it from your mouth in the form of a thick chakra-inufsed mist. The mist will mask your position, allowing you to move more stealthily but deprive you of your sense of sight, making this a very double-edged technique.

Instead of giving you Key points for this jutsu, I'd like you to tell me everything you can infer from this jutsu, tactics you/others could employ with it as well as the strengths and weaknesses of this jutsu.

Also, you are free to ask questions on it.

Can I explain in a story like way... I do it best that way...

As I walk into a ramen shop hungry from my training.. I sit down at the counter waiting for my order to be taken.. I look at the frail old man sitting next to me eating.. When I notice the anbu tattoo on his hand.. Then as I reach to ask the old man who he was, he just disappears into a cloud of white dust.. Everything seems clear to me then... He's just a clone.. I feel this cold sensation up my neck as if I was being watched from behind.. I quickly turn around to look then I see a fireball coming right at me.. I quickly block it with a shield of water while retaliating with a blast of water at the old man.. He blocks it with his hand.. We pause for a second looking at each other.. He laughs and says" Im gonna enjoy killing you".. He bursts into speed and rushes towards me.. Im frozen and I think he's an anbu ninja, i dont stand a chance.. He sprint towards me was harshly stopped by a thick mist.. I heard my teamats voice in my ear" we will take him down together".. I give a cunning smile as I prepare to attack but I cant see the old man.. My teamate quickly clears the mist for a brief moment.. I see the old man and focus the chakra in me to create two water arrows in both hands.. I throw them towards the old mans legs but he saw them and evaded them. He blasted two katon balls at me as the mist settled back. I duck to the ground as they flew towards me and one grazed on my shoulder... I stood back up holding my arm.. The confidence I had started to fade.. "can we really beat him" I asked myself.. Waking me from my thoughts my teamate grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the path of a huge katon ball... Struggling to get my feet we jumped on a roof avoiding the attack..

I got mad out of the fact that I wasnt that strong... I jumped off the roof to the position where I last saw the man.. I fell on top of him knocking him to the ground.. I quickly used the opportunity to attack without remorse.. Every blow hitting him hard.. My water attacks were actually working... He quicky performed sub jutsu and dissapeared.. My teamate watching from the roof laughing out loud... His loudness revealed his position and the old man threw a fire enfused kunai.. At his position.. He noticed the kunai too late.. It pierced his stomach and burned.. He lost his focus and the mist cleared.. The old man saw me and said "your next" I wasnt scared anymore.. If I had to die then let it be so but I will never run.. I ran towrds him creating water spheres all around us.. Just floating in the air... I create a clone behind him grabbing him so he cant move.. He stabs the clone with a kunai but it was all in vain.. I launched into the air making a fist.. The sphere fired at him.. My attack was so hard it disoriented him.. My teamate called me, showing me his intentions.. We focused our chakra together and formed a big water spear.. Our chakra was low so we had to rush at the old man with the water spear.. Our speed gave the spear momentum and we drove it right through his chest.. The force blew him away from us.. Finally the jounin arrived at the battle.. The stood there in shock to see the old mans body before them.. They looked at the image of two boys weak from the battle still standing against an anbu ninja..

How was that

Interesting way of performing the techniques. I have no problem with it.

The Sharingan cannot see through the mist, neither can the Rinnegan, only the Byakugan can. This is because the sharingan allows you to see raw chakra, since the mist is chakra-infused it masks anything behind/inside of it. However, the Byakugan possess x-ray like abilites, allowing the wielder to see through the mist directly and pinpoint anything/anyone inside. That being said, this is a good tactic for a Byakugan user.

(Suiton: Mizu Kuri No Yaiba) - Water Style: Sword of Draining
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

Now, I'd like you to step away from the water source and place your partly open hand out (as if you're wielding the hilt of a sword), before focusing your suiton chakra into air around that point. Utilizing your suiton chakra, you will generate a makeshift sword composed of water in the empty space in your hand. After creating the sword, I'd like you to toss it into the distance, before furiously chasing after it, attempting to over take it.

Key Points: None really, its a very basic technique. All I have to say is, it explicit states it doesn't require a water source. Some techniques say they cannot work without a water source, most which do not state they do not require a water source. Make sure to play close attention to this. If a technique doesn't state whether or not a source is required, assume it doesn't need one.

( Suiton: Junsai no Jutsu ) - Water Release: Water Shield Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will manipulate their water chakra and releasing it from their arm which is held outwards infront of them and they then create a shield of water that can aide in defence against projectile weapons and close combat techniques.
You must be registered for see images

Whenever you're successful in overtaking the sword, stand in front of it and extend your dominant hand forward to generate a shield of water directly in front of you which exhibits solid-like properties. Unlike previously, you do not grip the shield, rather its suspended in the air in front of you.

Key Points: The shield is created using the moisture in the air around you and is not wielded like a normal weapon (it just freely suspends itself in air). Refer to the picture in the spoiler.

As night came and the dead anbu was taken away... Me and my team mate were hospitalised for our injuries... I was laying in my bed wondering why an anbu ninja would attack us... Then I heard my teamate scream... I rushed to his room only to see him being taken out of the window... I rush to my room and got dressed and went after them... After a long chase in the forest I finally caught up to them... They were two mist village ninjas... they saw me and stopped in the trees... I yelled " let him go" they threw his unconcious body down towards me... I caught him but then felt a shiruken piercing my neck... I dropped him and saw them throwing a wall of shirukens at me... I quickly concentrated my chakra and form a water shield... As they jumped out of the tree right at me... I made a water sword and rushed at them but I was still weak from my injuries....

They both took out kunais and rushed towards me... Me sword disintegrated and I fell to my knees... Weak and tired they were both aiming for my eyes and wanted to end things qiuckly.. I looked at my death approaching... My friend woke up behind me just to see whats going on... He immediate threw two water spheres at them and knocked them down... He gave me one of his adrenaline shots he stole from the nurse... I burst up from my knees and made a mist from my chakra... They started to panic and threw kunais randomly through the mist... I focused my chakra and made a water sword... I could guess their position by following the trajectory of their kunai... I rushed at the first on pushing my sword through his skull killing him... My teamate climbed into the trees with his sword... He jumped down to the other on chopping him right in half... I didnt notice the one I killed dropped a exploding kunai...as I turned it exploded but my teamate saw it and formed a shield next to me when he rushed towards me... I stood their saying" stop saving my behind"... Hows that

Now with your completion of D-Ranks, we're going to discuss handseals before moving on. After learning completing each rank, I'm going to have some more information to bestow upon you. This will allow you to grow in strength as well as knowledge and by the time our training is over, you'll be a fully fledged shinobi.

This time around, the topic is handseals.

Handseals are a method used to focus, control and mold chakra for certain techniques. Some techniques require a large amount of chakra to be utilized whilst others need extreme control or shape manipulation. Both of these can be achieved through the use of handseals. The number of handseals is often dependent on the scale and shape manipulation required, as shown when Zabuza's Water bullet required eighteen or so handseals to simply prepare. However, those who attain completely mastery of their most favoured elemental affinity can often perform all techniques of that element with a single handseal, Tobirama being a prime example of this. What you can get from this is, techniques which are noticeably harder to control can be aided in their usage through handseals. Also, you must in your descriptions always state you use the handseals before you gather/focus your chakra.
