[Suiton] - Perception/Shadou

Shadou approached the training ground, his sinister pitched black eyes locked onto his new senpai. Today he would begin his first duel training experience with another ninja that required knowledge in the same element, suiton. Upon reaching his senpai, Shadou bowed his head toward the man and started to observe the training area.

Genkai drifts in a small wooden boat on a lake. Shortly after Shadou arrives the boat reaches the shore and Genkai docks the boat. Genkai then walks up to Senpai and Shadou.

[As I relax near the river I hear a voice behind me, signalling to me that one of the two students had arrived. I look back and notice the etiquette style of manners and respect he approached with, this already showed he could maybe be a good student. As he watched the first student, another one comes right after, he seemed like the smarter one of the two off of first impression, seeing as he actually took a boat down the intended river we are to use.
"Hmm, interesting. This is also my first dual training... Well as the teacher that is. So, please bare with me guys. ^^ Now before we start off, tell me any and everything about the water element please...."
After I finish talking, I don't even give the two a chance to respond, I simply get up and begin walking north through a thick forest. As I leave the two, I merely hope they will follow and begin their journey.

Shadou looks towards Genkai and nods his head, then looks back at his senpai as he leaves the two. It seemed like this would be an experience for not just Shadou but his partner and senpai. He proceeds to follow in his senpais footsteps, walking to the north through the thick forest. Shadou spoke in a loud tone, hoping that his senpai would hear his explanation of suiton.
Suiton is one of the five basic elements in the world of the ninja. Users of suiton techniques are capable of manipulating pre-existing water or creating their own by turning their chakara into water. Suiton techniques can change the shape and state of water.
Water is strong against fire techniques because it can extinguish flames, but not fire techniques of a greater rank that are capable of evaporating the water. However, water is weak against the earth element because earth structures can dissipate the force of water. Water can be used in conjunction with lightning techniques to increase the flow of electricity which will deal more damage to a opponent. Water can also be used alongside the wind element to increase the power of a water technique.
Shadou continues to walk at a fast pace in attempt to catch up with his senpai. He looks back towards Genkai with a smirk on his face. He had gone over everything he knew about Suiton but was curious to know if his partner might’ve known more than him. While waiting to hear what Genkai's knowledge in suiton was, Shadou takes the time to observe the forest, wondering what their senpai had planned.

Genkai follows her Senpai and Shadou into the forest. She looks at her surroundings paying particular attention to a bird flying above as she listens to Shadou talk. When Shadou finishes Genkai looks at him and says,

"Well you guys got most of it right. Water is a very versatile element to say the least, being able to do a multitude of things in limitless ways. It can be used in large scaled ways to completely change the terrain, be used to trap opponents, make numerous animals of water, weapons made of condensed water, defensive mechanisms.... The usages are literally limitless if your imagination is in the right place. Water can also be used in various combinations to cause different affects, though in most water/other element combos the water jutsu is usually used first. For example; shooting out a wave of water and following up with a lightning jutsu to electrify the water, heightening its lethality. Or, shooting a wave of water and using a large fire jutsu in order to heat up the speeding water into a cloud of building steam that's heading at an opponent."

Ah I see, so much I didn’t know. I have no questions, everything is understood.

Shadou held the bottom of his cloak up while following his senpai as they crossed the lake and listened to the man whistle. He was eager to begin training and become stronger and he could tell that his senpai possessed the neccesary strength and wisdom to help Shadou achieve that. Shadou felt honored to be able to train in the same area that his senpai had previously trained when he learned suiton.

Interesting, I didn't know water is well suited against some KG and is bad against others. Your attention to detail is admirable. I have committed this to memory.
As Genkai finished talking everyone reached the lake. Genkai walks beside Shadou and follows Senpai across the lake. As she crosses the lake she stares down at the water trying to identify the fish swimming by. In the back of her mind she wonders what kind of training her senpai went through.

As I'm walking away, I clearly hear two simultaneous splashes, which brought a smirk across my face
"Just as I thought! You young ones have yet to go through the basics of controlling your chakra enough to balance on water. Mwahaha. Get out of the water and change into these."
I reach into a backpack I had on and pulls out a pair of shorts just for the both of you, as if I knew exactly what would happen. >.>
"Now, focus chakra in the soles of your feet, just like with the genin tree climbing activity which I'm sure you've mastered. This is a little more advanced ok? As you step on the water, simply try moving the chakra on your soles in synchronization with the flow of the moving water, thus allowing you to balance and maneuver on a water's surface... Now, once you've got this done we can finally begin crossing.."
*looks away as you get dressed, then keeps an eye on you guys while you attempt walking on water again*

Shadou spits out a load of water that had went in his mouth from the unexpected fall. He then swims to the land where his senpai stood. Once getting out of the lake, Shadou realized that he was drenched in water. He shook his head in attempt to get some of the water out of his hair and then took off his red cloak, laying it by his feet. Shadou takes the shorts from his senpai and then shoots both of them a quick look. He turns his back to the two and changes into the shorts. He knew that he didn't have any previous training with water walking but was ashamed to admit it to his senpai and thus suffered from it.
Well that was an unexpected swim.
Shaking his head in embarrassment, Shadou listened closely to his senpais instructions and started to gather his chakara, channeling it towards the soles of his wet feet. Once he felt ready, Shadou approached the lake again. Hesitant at first, Shadou placed his left foot on the water, followed by his right. He remained focused, making sure to move the chakara on his soles in synchronization with the flow of the water. A few steps in, Shadou somewhat swayed to the right as if he was about to fall again. He extended his arms out to the side and straightened up his posture in attempt to keep balance. Once regaining his balance, Shadou stood still on the surface of the water. That was foolish of me to assume I could walk across the water. With no training I would have to be Jesus to accomplish such a feat.
Genkai swims to the shore and then does a facepalm as she stares at Shadou. She grabs the garments that senpai has provided and goes behind a tree to change. Genkai then listens carefully to senpai words about chakra and it's interaction with the surface of water. Genkai walks to the edge of the lake and stands across from Shadou. She stands still for a moment recollecting her tree climbing training. Genkai then builds chakra in her body and releases it through chakra points in her feet. She takes her right foot and slowly hovers it above the surface of the lake. She takes a full step and her foot falls through the water.
My chakra is not in resonance with the water. If my chakra doesn't flow like the water then I will not be able to stand.
Genkai steps back on land and calms her mind. She visualizes the flow of water and it's changing nature. She builds up her chakra again and steps on top of the lake with her right foot. The foot is steady of the surface of the water. She then steps with her left foot and manages to stand on the water. She notes that Shadou is standing as well. She wants to look his way, but is keeping her eyes focused on the surface of the water. It takes all her concentration just to maintain her balance.
I did it! Wow, I better concentrate more. The chakra is starting to get out of sync with the water. I'm ready to cross senpai.
Genkai waits for her senpai's instructions as she wobbles back and forth.

Shadou eyes opened wide and his mouth drops as his senpai starts to dart across the water. He thinks to himself “he has got to be kidding me”. He turns his attention to Genkai and shakes his head side to side while releasing a sigh. He then takes a few steps across the water’s surface, taking baby steps and getting comfortable with just walking on water before picking up the speed. In the back of his mind he assumed that his senpai was probably laughing at the two inexperienced ninja.
Here goes nothing.
Shadou took a deep breath, a wide grin showing on his face. He continued to take steps, picking up the pace with every step. He carefully focused on the language of the water, the way it moved while making sure to still move the chakara gathered in the soles of his feet with the flow of the water. After a few steps, Shadou became more confident with his water walking ability. He started to jog across the surface of the water alongside with Genkai. Once they caught up with their senpai, Shadou waited for the man to answer Genkais question on what he wanted them to do next.

After traveling across the enormous lake for about half an hour, I finally reach the other side, followed by my two students showing up several minutes later. It kinda surprised me that the two had gotten the hang of walking on water so quickly none the less running across it. It was impressive and it showed the potential of the two runts. u_u As I step onto the shore, I put my right hand in front of me, palm pointing towards you guys, signalling for you two to not exit the water.. On the shore was a huge bucket of freshly boiled water, which would be used on one of you guys. >.>
"Now we'll start ok? I'm going to throw this water on one of you, but if you don't want your pretty little skins scolded off of your flesh, you'll manipulate the water and take control of it in some way. This water has no chakra in it, so you'll be able to mold it to your will. While one does that, *pick up a fist sized rock from the shore* the other will manipulate the water in this lake to prevent the rock from sinking. Basically, if the rock sinks, you'll stay here and won't continue. u_u"

Before the rock can come down, I throw the scolding water onto Shadou, scolding him severely if he didn't mold it properly... As the water approaches Shadou, the rock hits the lake's surface and begins sinking in front if Genkai

Shadou focuses on the scolding hot water that approached him. At first he was caught off guard by his senpais sudden actions. His senpai didn’t waste any time which Shadou liked about the man. The trick to doing this was being able to mold the scorching water while keeping balance on the surface of the lake. While keeping the necessary amount of chakara in the soles of his feet to maintain balance, Shadou didn’t move his eyes from the water which quickly neared him. He thought about all of the properties of water in attempt to become one with it. He thought about the force, pressure, power, and different forms that water was capable of taking.
Once understanding the properties of water, Shadou let out a grunt as the scorching water was about to come into contact with his skin. He gathers the remaining chakara left in his body. Before touching him, the scorching water paused in the air, a few inches away from Shadou’s face. Shadou begins to take control of the water in the air through manipulation, making sure to not lose focus so the boiling water wouldn’t splash him in the face. He proceeds to mold the water into the shape of sphere and holds it in the air. With pure focus, Shadou moves the scorching water back to the shore, releasing it near his senpais feet. A smile takes over Shadou’s face, realizing that he completed the first task and wouldn’t have to suffer from severe burns. He turned his attention to his senpai who was still standing on the shore.
That was close, jeez.
Shadou looks over at Genkai to see that she has also completed her task. He grins and gives her a thumbs up.

Genkai arrives with Shadou and listens to her senpai's instructions. Then Genkai glances at Shadou as senpai throws the rock in the air.
I've got this Shadou! You take care of the boiling water.
Genkai watches the rock fall in the air. She builds up chakra in her body and imagines her chakra as free flowing and changing like the waves. She kneels down on the surface of the lake and puts her hands on the water. She releases chakra into the water from the chakra points in her hand. Genkai then tries to mold the water chakra to create a small pillar to rise out of the lake and catch the rock. Genkai fails and only manages to make a small ripple on the surface of the lake. The rock hits the surface of the lake.
If I don't do something fast the rock is going to sink!! I released my chakra too soon and the water chakra wasn't enough to mold the surface of the lake."
As Genkai says this she builds up chakra in her body again. She visualizes her chakra as free flowing while she concentrates on the feeling of the water below her hands. Genkai builds up the chakra slightly longer than before and then releases into the water. At this point the rock has sunk into the lake about 0.1 m. Before the rock can sink any further Genkai molds her chakra into a pillar and catches the rock. With the rock on top of the pillar she floats the rock to the surface of the lake. Genkai then stands up and raises her arms in the air. The pillar rises 1.5 m from the surface of the lake.
I can't maintain this for long. I have to get rid of the rock or else this pillar is going to disperse.
Using all her concentration she takes her right arm and swings it behind her and the pillar follows. Genkai then swings her right arm forward and the pillar snaps forward like a whip and slings the rock at senpai. As soon as the rock is released the pillar breaks.
I think you dropped this senpai. I wonder if Shadou fared as well.

I simply take a seat on the ground, sitting indian style while watching you two go throughout the process. I smirk as Shadou barely catches the water before it hit him, luckily he succeeded or he would have been left here to suffer from both the burns and the animals that were soon to arrive. I would have let him die, simple as that. Some may say that it was a cruel thing, but in reality the young man was trying to be a shinobi, so putting him in the face of danger was just the right thing to do seeing as he would definitely run into worse situations if he continued the life of a shinobi. Around the same time, Genkai did exactly what was expected, rising a small pillar of water to lift the rock; all in all the students seemed very skilled thus far, maybe even my favorite students... As Genkai launches the rock back at me, I simply extend my left palm, allowing the rock to go straight into my hand. As the rock in about to touch my palm, I use my advanced shape manipulation to form a sphere of spiralling chakra around the rock, decimating it into pure dust due to the rapid spinning and destructive power of the rasengan..
"Oi, you'll have to do much better than that to hit me Genkai-kun..
Now, you guys have learned your first water jutsu, though remember that this jutsu isn't limited to simply pillars or spheres, you can create small swords, whips, bullets, shields, waves and such. It's a very versatile jutsu to be low ranked.."

Shadou chuckles while listening to his senpai teasing Genkai . He had learned his first water jutsu and was happy, but he knew that there was still a lot of training ahead. He started to dart across the water’s surface, kicking up splashes behind him as he headed toward his senpai. Upon reaching shore, Shadou wiped his feet on the ground in attempt to dry them.

Shadou raised his eyebrow in surprise that his senpai was already hungry. He turned to face Genkai, wondering if she could help their senpai with his hunger.
