Zabuza has no way to hurt Suigetsu and any suiton will just fuel Suigetsu to become stronger.

Suigetsu's strength was enough to make a crater in the ground from slashing withh his sword so he should have no problem hurting Zabuza when the time comes. Plus he has his water gun.

I'd say whoever gets the sword unless what I thought would be the logical route (they both get a copy) would make it harder or easier for Suigetsu but it's no game changer.

You can say the same thing about suigetsu. He studied the 7 swordsmen from the hidden mist with his brother and is familiar Witt the swords as well as the sword holders. I think suigetsu knows more abou zabuza than zabuza does about suigetsu
