hmmmm...it depends if Shino's insects can absorb Suigetsu's chakra fast enough so we wont be able to do his water thingy...

I don't think Shino's bugs would be really that effected on Suigetsu unless his bugs can eat away Sui's chakra quickly before Sui can liquefy. For now, i got with Suigetsu

If there isn't a water source suigetsu will become tired and dehydrated after using a few water jutsu and to add to that shino's bugs can drain the remaining chakra from him only if he uses hidden mist for a silent kill on shino xd

If suigetsu can get in close range he'd win, Shino is long range and fillers aside hasn't shown any taijutsu skill that i recall. So if suigetsu rushes him and doesn't get surrounded by bugs (without drowning them somehow) he could cut shino down or shoot him with the Water Gun Technique.

If they fought near a water source i think Sui would have no probelm overwhelming Shino and his bugs

Suigetsu. Once he's in close range with his Neck Cleaver, then it's all over. I'd like to see his bugs block a strike from a sword that strong.

Fillers included there was 1 episode (1st generation) were he trained to better his taijutsu skills.

Maybe but shino's Insect Clone Tech could be helpful in that situation

It depends if shino's has bugs that can thrive in water. They they can drain his chakra

from what i've seen, shino's never even been physically struck since the chunin exams against zaku. against kankuro, he constantly used bug clones. also, there's a possibility he could use earthworms in the ground to absorb suigetsu's water if he liquifies xD

but anywho, if he coats his bugs with enough chakra, they will be able to eat through the water and suck his chakra dry. that's not even an issue because even if he liquifies, something has to keep his form and keep himself moving, which is chakra. it even takes chakra to use the technique. insect sphere to restrain him while he's solidified, and insect sphere when he's liquified...
