How do you know these scenes in particular were recut or post production editing? I don't recall them ever giving a breakdown of what scenes they would be handling on the reshoots. Also maybe the film was made with the expectation the audience was familiar with the characters and thus a long character origin exposition wasn't needed especially as you say that info is available as a quick skim across a wiki. Not every movie needs to cover the origin just because it's the writer or directors first time handling the character, that's why people get so annoyed with Spiderman reboots, if the origin is known by the majority of your target audience then skip it.

Yea I saw it remember it now couldn't think of it earlier. I wonder if we'll get a touch of that story in the Batman movie Affleck is working on or if Leto's too mad to come back?

Pretty sure they have him lock in contract, reminds me onfthe situation with Jeremy back in the avengers, I'm sure they'll give Leto more time next time he brings the joker back. I wanna see that in the movie as well, would be pretty cool to get that at the beginning of the story, maybe we can get Redhood

If they jumped right into a Batman with Jason already gone I'd be amazed, happy but amazed. Idk if it's real but reportedly Leto's very salty about how SS played out even if he's under contract he could still refuse to do the role and just pay the penalties. Honestly I'm still not sure how I feel about Leto, he wasn't bad but I think the most Joker-esque stuff of SS was how the scenes were written, it was almost inevitable they came across feeling like The Joker.

I hope because I did enjoy him, I also hope he gets a good writer(though Ben should so just fine) because like I said I'm still not really sure how much of it I liked because of his character or the presentation. If he does back out I have a dream cast I plan to push hard, and he already has a past with Affleck.

It almost feels unfair to have any opinion on him yet considering his clips must have been edited and cut out so much.
