Just finished Blade of the Immortal manga. Storyline is great with plenty of plot twists, and it's a straight-up action manga. Suspense? Not much, really, but if you like samurai series then this is clearly the manga for you.

Anime: Afro Samurai, Baccano, Black Lagoon, Btooom!, Cowboy Bebop, D-Gray man, Durarara, DBZ, Guilty Crown, GunGrave, Hellsing Ultimate, Project K, Jormungand, Samurai Champloo, Sword of the stranger, One punch man, TTGL, The seven deadly sins, Trigun. Not fitting your criteria but highly recommend One Outs.

Manga: Ajin, One punch man, Tokyo Ghoul, Sun-ken Rock, Feng Shen Ji, Black Haze, Red Storm

If you want to try manhwas for a change:

The breaker and Breaker the new waves ( sleek art, action, martial arts superpowers)

Ruler of the Land ( art not so good but action and and character interaction and plot a grade, historical set up and magical weapons)

Tower of God ( game like structure- action, as the hero levels up universe gets increasingly complex I hear)

Noblesse ( lighter than others in some ways and less complex still a nice fun read, action, tasteful comic moments and interesting characters)
