[Suggestion] New Section

Thank you Nova ^^ this is mostly the idea behind the Resources Section, you beat me to it ooh I saw mercy o.o

I was the one to actually suggest the Resources Section on OPB.

Well, this would be an entire section devoted to encouraging people to link to outside sources...

Tutorials also usually require a member spend a great deal of time formatting the thread and making it look nice. This makes it less likely to contain a bad link since the member who created it probably wouldn't have spent so much time creating it and making it look nice if their intent was to cause issues.

Now, look at what your suggesting where every member is encouraged to create their own thread with their own links, and you're bound to run into some bad ones. Is this a strong possibility? Not really, but it is still likely to occur.

Though people may not like my style or agree with my methods, I do all of this for a reason: to ensure that people are truly thinking their suggestions through and not half-assing things. There are pros and cons to everything, and nothing should be accepted without some form of challenge.

If you can ensure the integrity of the links, then there isn't much of an issue except maybe copyright problems, but those are rarely enforced on such a level as being suggested. I do know that linking to sources outside of NB isn't looked highly upon by the Staff, so my questioning of the section does have merit. I'm game for you guys getting what you need, but I personally would like to know that you have at least thought of the negative sides of your argument. Not trying to be harsh or overly critical, just realistic.

Only thing I'm against is the requirements. Post count is slightly unnecessary, some people join NarutoBase with GFXing in their Top 3 things to do here (They will definatly have less then 1 000 posts).

And the premium membership also kind of unnecessary.

The 1 month membership is fine though

Yes I have thought things through believe me otherwise I wouldn't have posted this suggestion. Well if you look into the tutorials section you will notice that most links have are broken due to them being on Megaupload, Almost 75-80% of them are unusable and therefore this is where I believe this could work, I know that posting links to other websites is highly frowned upon, but these links could only be from storing websites such as mediafire/etc.. (forgot the other ones).

I can understand ideas about improving it but, Why don't you report the threads/post in GFX tutorials forum which have invalid links in the mean while, so that could be sorted out- for this particular kind of problem can come up even if there is a separate section for it.

Maybe it's time for overhauling those stickies- to edit, remove and add others. You can make new relevant threads and talk to a mod about it.

Let me know if I am missing something and how a new section is the answer to problems of broken links etc..

I can understand ideas about improving it but, Why don't you report the threads/post which have invalid links in the mean while, so that could be sorted out- for this particular kind of problem can come up even if there is a separate section for it.

Maybe it's time for overhauling those stickies- to edit, remove and add others. You can make new relevant threads and talk to a mod about it.

See above. I had editted the post to make it more clear so meh. The demand of the new section is for admins to decide not me. I asked a question about the broken link problem.

But I find it really helpful that you decided to concentrate on being saracastic and skipped the main part of that post. What ever suits you. :shrug:

I don't really care about the broken links part but when we just overhaul the whole section and add new stickies with links to various resources - Please tell me how it could still be considered a TUTORIAL section?

Did you miss the part where I clearly said ( it was even so before editting) "in the mean while"? I made a suggestion about broken link part because I saw some people complaining about them in the GFX tutorials.

The post count can be altered if the admins deem it necessary, I'm not changing it because I truly do see it as necessary, you can try to look around in other forums and their requirements are much more strict than the ones I have displayed here.

Continuing with what I had said in my previous posts, the broken links aren't the only problem here, This resources section that I'm suggesting would have a wide variety of sub-sections (sub-forums) so that everything can be neatly organized. "Tutorials" are but a small section that falls under the category of resources. I understand what you have said, but please do try to see this from my point of view and comprehend how this would greatly aid those of us that create GFX.

But seriously, the requirements are bullshit. Yeah, I mean we should have something like only people we can trust should be allowed to post. (Ones with a rather high rep-rank.) But other than that, there shouldn't be anything like requirements, this isn't a high ranked GFX Forum after all.

I know some of you may not like the requirements :| I can see that, but if this suggestion is implemented, that problem can be left to the Admins to decide.

I think that if the suggestion is implemented, we should present the Admins with something more...Like give them a hammer and nails instead of just wood.

400-500 Rep? Minimum? And how would it be possible to check and stuff like that?

I'm not saying that those people should be restricted from posting. I just think that you should report the threads and obviously not download anything from them.

My requirements:
- You are only allowed to post if you have 600 Rep Points or more.
- You are not allowed to claim work as your own and you have always to credit the original maker.
- Don't spam to much packs or resources in a row if it's the same category, make a whole thread for them.

I also think that the edit button should last quite long so people can just edit their threads instead of posting new threads maybe. Like if a new thing is added just create a big heading like:
