I think it would be a good idea to maybe try and put in fluid width here. Not only because I prefer it, but because it can be beneficial for those with smaller screens such as 800x600, as well as really big screens like 1920x1080. From looking at the current theme which I forget what it's called, I'm pretty sure the main width for the forum itself is 1000px, which in having a small screen would stretch it, and having a big screen wouldn't take up a lot of it.

What I mean by fluid width, is that the forum style will stretch for you, depending on your screen size. Having some experience in making themes with vBulletin, I know the base percentage can be set for the padding from the edges of the screen. Using fluid width, means it will be different for everyone, so those with large screens will take up all the screen, and those with small screens won't have them stretched.

Now I've looked into it somewhat, and it seems like Fluid Width is a basic function that comes with vBulletin, so I don't see why it couldn't be installed at all. I just wanna know other people's thoughts on this.

Seems like a good idea, however, I don't know the technology behind it and how long it would take to implement it into their systems...
Well from my understanding it's a basic function which comes with purchasing a vBulletin forum anyway. From what I've read up, and I'll just quote it, all you do is go to the AdminCP and make it from there so people can choose a fluid width style instead of a fixed width style.

vBulletin.com said:
Give the visitor a choice between the 2, by enabling in the admincp panel "allow users to change styles" They will then see a drop down box at the bottom left of the screen which will allow them to change the style to their liking.

I'm not seeing "Fluid Width" anywhere. Is that something new in 4.x? It sounds like you're talking about the StyleVars:

Is that what you mean?

That is the actual theme, not the Width.

Okay yeah I've figured how it can work. As Gama said, in the stylevars option there's the first thing, which you can make 100% or something according to what you prefer. I'm pretty sure that's what I was talking about.

But I've been in other places where you can choose to have a fluid width or a fixed width, also depending on what you like. Maybe you have to get a new layout, or find a code which allows you to access both and insert it into the master layout thing.
