Kawarimi no jutsu? Its so simple. Cut any wood length half your body. Hide it in ur shirt at all time. During being attacked, u just replace urself with that log and go to ohter place.

There are different ways to use kawarimi, but for the normal ones, you need an object or person(in the place where you fight) in order to perform the jutsu. For example, on the pic i posted, Kakashi used changed his position with one of Naruto's clone. Another example is Zabuza who prepared a white rabbit in order to subtituate out of the way:
