As the title says, which do you prefer?
English dubs vs English subs
My answer : Subs

Why Subs?/why not Dubs?
My answer : first of all, it's a Japanese anime. so what we need is every Japanese thing translated into English whatever it may be, the voices, shops' names, title of the episode. Every single thing which has importance related to the story must be known to everyone. Dubs lacks this, they only do the voices and fail to give subs to the Japanese writings anywhere in the episodes. They don't even translate the title of the episode in dubbed episode.
The failures of the dubs will be :
title of episodes
Yamato's explanation about the five elements to Naruto
The sword of Sage which seals the most uttered word by a character which was used by Ginkaku and Kinkaku.

Anything you want to add?

Don't forget to tell about your preferences. :bye:

subs, more accurate, and to some extent they look natural.

for me too. In dubs, I sometimes miss words which are said quickly.
Subs are better than dubs

Yup.

Subs all day.

Dub is... embarrassing. :eww: I can't stand the voice-acting.

Subs if I have been watching the show already because I will be used to the voices. Dubs if it is something new that I am watching because it is just less of a hassle to read

Well with subs , your eyes are all over the places ( reading the subs and watching the episode ) while in the dubs you can focus on watching the episode without worrying or pausing the episode to read a long sub , but the problem of dubs are :

-The choice of the voice actors ( which is horrible most of the time )
-The inaccuracy of the lines of each character ( they twist most of the character's lines and it happened many times in a lot of animes )

In a series like Death Note for example i prefer the dubs because its a series full of dialogue and details in the animation.

Its similar to the drive train of cars :
The subs is similar to the Front wheel drive cars when the front wheels do the steering , most of the breaking while handling the car's power. ( in the subs , your eyes watch the episode and read the subs )

The dubs is similar to the Rear wheel drive cars when the rear wheels handle the power and the front handle the steering and most the breaking ( in the dubs you put less stress on your eyes because you can hear and understand the talking via your ears ).

Eh, subs come out first and I rarely re-watch any episodes after their initial release. So subs. Plus I don't hear well so I actually prefer using subs whenever they are available in any movies, games etc.

Well the rule is that sub is always better to dub but there are some exceptions. For example I really loved Tobi's dubbed serious voice, it's full of wisdom and evilness. I even like some openings in english dub, take for example this:

Subs, if only because it's the first one I watch, so anything else would sound bad.
