Last night the charger for my laptop broke after 5 years, and I had to go buy another one last night. Where I live we have 24 hour Walmarts. So I drive to Walmart to get the charger and it's past midnight. All of the electronics and anything that is not food or drinks (non-achool) is taped and sectioned off when I arrive. I could only buy food or drinks. I knew about this and should have known better so I drive one county over and go to a different Walmart. There I'm able to buy the charger and anything else I could want. This law is known as the blue law.
IMO this law makes no sense whatsoever. The way it works is you can't buy anything that is not "Jesus Approved" by the churches standards after midnight on Saturday. As far as I can guess the law was probably made after some 70 year old cranky nun in the 18th century complained that people were being heathen sinners and not going to church. They are slowly getting rid of the law where I live county by county, but I'm surprised it's taking so long.
Do you guys have any ridiculous laws where you live?
