Studio Pierrot can't do ridiculous fillers anymore.

Pardon me for being hopeful here, but with the ending of the manga series and the immediate release of The Last that is way ahead of where the anime is currently, it seems that Studio Pierrot can't have any more excuse on making "filler arcs" anymore in terms of where it currently is for the anime series of Naruto.

Given that aside, the anime is almost one year behind of the manga now in terms of production (it was around one year ago in September that Obito was defeated as the Ten Tails Jin), so if anything that would give the studio in itself plenty of time to work on legitimate canon episodes that are based on the manga, instead of focusing on ridiculous fillers that has nothing to do with the actual story, unless they involved one of the minor characters.

A perfect example of minor characters would be on how they revealed Yamato's backstory with Kakashi, one example of filler that actually had a good purpose in the series, and not instead about some random "ninja Ostrich" or a crying boy that everyone "suddenly remembers about".

If there were any fillers that should be made at this point, it should be about the character development for those who weren't given a backstory by Kishimoto during the manga, aside from that, SP really can't rely on the concept of "arcs" anymore.

After reaching the end of the series what makes you think it's automatically cancelled? What if they get to the end but the TV station paid for more and they have something like ten episodes left to fulfill the order? They could do another Chikara arc or whatever they can think of? Original stories can be about anything and they can put it anywhere in the timeline that they like.

I agree considering that they no longer need to worry about catching up to the source. We'll see whether they were really doing it for that reason, or for money now though...

If they did do a Filler arc next year I guess their reasons will be along the lines like We are trying to prepare for the final episodes of Naruto and hope to give you the best Naruto experience... blah blah something like that

It seems that they will be pacing half a chapter with 80% filler for canon-filler hybrids. It'll last another 4 years this way. Lol Smh, must be some good profit in it. Lol

Sure they can. If I had to guess, I think they might use infinite Tsukiyomi to create a few filler episodes.

One reason there is a chance for filler is because the opening doesn't include Kaguya or anything beyond her. Another reason, if the studio thinks it will make them more money they'll do it.

Besides the last episode things have been going like 2-3 chapters/episode so its not that bad.
I think something like may next year without any fillers they will be done.
However I do like some fillers, like the Anbu arc was interesting. Fillers like yota are terrible so I hope none of those.
Or another Mecha-Naruto. fml they just wasted precious slot for a fkn video game smh
