between Deidara and Sasori...similar to Itachi and Kisame. He also calls him master Sasori...there is a level of respect, similar to Kisame saying Itachi-san. Portrayal wise Sasori is definitely intended to be > Deidara.

While I agree Sasori > Deidara, your point doesn't really prove that. Deidara could be giving Sasori his due respect as a fellow artist and his senior in Akatsuki. Deidara could've been taunting Naruto and could've been referring to Sasori as "master" for his character rather than strength.
Point is, feats are the way to go.

Is there something wrong with it? Tobi when he was faking it was intended to be the weakest akatsuki member. As soon as the act was off he got superior portrayal over the entire organization.

Nothing wrong with Tobi being inferior to Deidara because he was fully intended to fool him and the rest.

This is not the only case...I can name you other cases where the author intends something but featwise one destroys the other. As an example off the top of my head Muu vs Gengetsu (trollkage) they are fully portrayed to be equals but everyone knows featwise Muu is levels above TrollKage.

Over here I would say Muu = Gengetsu

but in a vs, one could easily destroy Gengetsu in a battle of feats with Muu.

I think he had more potential, but his personality just got in his own way.
Whereas konan was pretty well collected and intelligent. Smart enough to know she needed preparations for a stronger opponent.

Konan in a three way battle would mid diff Sasori due to her physicality, and her bombs being extremely capable of destroying a puppet, not to mention, her paper disc was extremely strong, and made an enormous impact. She wouldn't be poisoned, and her paper is as strong as steel, meaning she is superior to Sasori.

I would gauge each of her individual paper bombs as one C1 bomb, and her paper at the strength of an Iron Sand projectile. She can teleport with her paper, similar to Itachi with crows, except extremely widespread, and can regenerate from a single sheet of paper. She wouldn't be caught in anything less than C3 and her paper could easily detonate the mines and projectiles. I put her speed at Hebi Sasuke or Higher levels, as she kept up with Obito and Jiraiya. She can fly faster than Deidara, and probably detach her arms. Arguably, if we restrict suicide techs, she high diffs him.
