Orochimaru is & has always been the strongest of the Sannin hence why Hiruzen always considered him his first choice for replacement before his fall, it took both Tsunade & a drugged Jiraiya to stop Orochimaru despite both his arms being sealed, in fact according to the 3rd data-book Orochimaru with his arms sealed was only .5 points behind a fully capable Jiraiya & equal to Tsunade; as he is now currently with a Senju body to boost his vitality/stamina & able to absorb the natural chakra for Sage Mode + all the acquired knowledge of Kabuto added to his own, he stands far apart from his fellow Sannin with or without the Edo Tensei.shodaimeicon:

hiruzen indeed loved orochimaru and thought that he's a rare genius but, the rivalry between oro and jiraiya have always been like naruto and sasuke, one is born gifted and another had to work to keep up.
that's why they are on the same level and it can go either way, they were equal when they faced each other (one drugged and the other without his hands) and there is a reason for the way this encounter happened, the writer intended for it to be this way (to make them even looking at how oro was handicapped).

Seriously thou..its very very close..oro with arms slaughters base but sm would be a problem.handless oro is about equal to base j man imo
I mean,both are CRAZY CRAZY strong!orochimaru can get bisected an reattach himself plus his unique replacement tech Makes it nearly impossible to kill him.then he has loads of sealing techs(five pronged seal is like a one shot chakra seal),a sword then can stretch miles and is hard as diamond..

J man!what can't this guy do?needle jizo makes taijutsu almost impossible to use,he's got awesome katons,uses the kage bushin very well,can transport a whole room into the stomach of a giant frog..
And I personally think based of feats not hype he has the highest chakra reserves excluding jinchurikki.he uses like 30 diffrent jutsu in the pain fight.

Ok ok so I got a little of topic.their both bosses and depending on circumstances either can win

I think that orochimaru is the storngest sannin. He now has the use of both arms, and he also has access to a sage mode. It is my personal opinion that if kabuto could figure out sage mode, then orochimaru figured it out a long time ago. (the use of his arms is probably the restriction that would have kept him from using it earlier in the story)

Being drugged is not equivalent to having your hands sealed by Death itself, Orochimaru could not even use jutsus on his own accord while Jiraiya still could though he could not use them as efficiently as he normally would, even still Jiriaya also had Tsunade assisting him & with their power combined the most they could do is force him back, now give Orochimaru his arms back & a Senju body that boosts his power & allows him to use Sage Mode & its not even close.shodaimeicon:
