In regards to OP (in fact, any other manga/comic/book), the epilogue and the EoS are one & the same. Because an epilogue occurs at the very end of the series - a conclusion; and EoS is the end of said series.

Are you mentally disabled or what? 'Cause if 'ya aren't, you'd comprehend that it has been 2 years since that incident occurred, and in those 2 years Akainu must've gotten stronger and Garp would've gotten weaker due to his age - especially since he renounced his VA position and - meaning he stopped going out and fighting.

Currently Sakazuki is the strongest marine imo.
However im pretty sure prime Garp would f*ck him up.
Current Garp wouldn't be able to beat him.

its been 2 years, and garp retired. so you have the factor of his age and the fact that sengoku could have stoppped him for other reasons. like if the marines saw their top tiers infighting it would lower morale and give WB an opening
