looks like you didnt watch the 3 movies of superman. He nearly died just due to a normal human in superman returns. In cartoon also he once was near dying and batman saves him(justice league)

To be honest as far as physical strength goes, Hulk has this one all the way, the more pissed he gets the stronger he gets, as for superman he needs our yellow sun to maintain his power, if he goes without it for a long duration of time he will lose his "super" and be just a regular person.

Note, When Hulk fought Thor, he has gotten so pissed before, for not being able to lift the hammer, he picked that bitch up just out of pure rage

I kinda wanna say movies and cartoons aren't canon, but I don't really know if that concept applies to American comics like it does manga.

I'm no extreme expert on Superman, but as a recent comic book fan I can tell you he has lost a great deal of times (as far as the new DC Universe goes).
