I see on many posts people who claim that Amaterasu would totally nail Jiraiya or that Susanoo would demolish anyone etc etc...

So, Does having stronger techniques make a stronger shinobi? & if so, Why?

If an example is needed:

Gaara, in theory, could stay out of Sasuke's reach & force him to use Amaterasu to attack & Susanoo to defend long range attacks. Thus using all his chakra and could then engulf him in sand. Tacticall skill over Muscle.
(I am not saying this would happen, just an example)

Of course it is, that's the point. Anyone can theoretically beat anyone. All they need is the oppertunity. Doesn't matter that you have EMS & Susanoo, if you get stabbed in the face with a kunai, then...you've been stabbed in the face with a kunai!

Some tardos need to stop dealing with certainties. If the Naruto world were a sure thing, then It wouldn't have so much going for it.

Well then why was Kakuzu stated as a weak character? We all know he was Physically Strong and was a Genius that even Shikamaru said. Also he only fell because of his partners stupidity.

If you're talking about his defeat at the hands of Naruto then you need to just stop. Naruto only won because he had the kyuubi's help and information on Pein. Pein also had several chances to kill him in that fight. If you're talking about his defeat at the hands of Itachi then you also need to stop. Nagato only lost that fight because it was a 1v3. Intelligence and other things help, but it wouldn't matter if for example Ems Sasuke was facing Shikamaru. Sasuke is way too strong for Shikamaru and no amount of intelligence would change that.

1: You gave me two examples Naruto vs Pain and Itachi vs Pain and in both examples, guess what? He lost. Doesn't matter how you win or why, the only thing that matters is you do or don't. I'm not for or against any characters but I can tell you what did and didn't happen.
The fact that someone has information on someone or has two supporting allies or a better weapon, isn't what matters. It's the outcome.
The statement you gave me was, There's nothing you can do in the face of overwhelming power. Well, guess what? It appears there was. Being prepared for something and having a good solid plan isn't something so futile it should be overlooked. Many of our greatest athletes/teams won because they were prepared or had a plan/strategy.
With regards to the Shikamaru vs Sasuke, I'm not saying that it's likely,I'm not even saying it's probable. I am saying it is possible. With the exception of few things, there is nothing in this world that we can conceive that is in reality, impossible.
Example. Shikamaru hides in the shadows and Sasuke doesn't notice. If Sasuke is then caught by the shadow possesion and killed(no chit-chat), hey-ho Shikamaru wins. NOT likely but not out of the question.
I realise this leaves a lot of other things as possible and also totally idiotic but nonetheless, just because it isn't going to happen, doesn't mean it can't.

strength isn't everything...but it is something to be looked upon as well...even konohamaru got the opportunity for beating up one of pain's body because of some scenarios...it would not always happen but things will might just happen...call it "luck" if you wish...

Except that madara's LV2 susanoo can easily plow through gaara's strongest defenses, and has spammable amaterasu arrows that will most likely plow through gaara's strongest defenses (since madara's susanoo's spammable longrange did). And sasuke also has a hawk summon so he can fly as well. And this is considering that gaara is fighting in a desert, anywhere else and the battle will be over long before gaara has time to crate a miniture desert of his own.

and yeah MS tech are so powerful that they alone make a shinobi. During Sasuke and itachi's fight, sasuke had the advantage when going head to head with base itachi. By just having the MS, itachi was able to control the fight and could have won if he wanted to despite being sick and getting owned in base.
