First thing.

During the Invasion of pain arc, the intro has scenes which do not actually happen.
There's team guy fighting pain and stuff like that that never even happens. WTF

Second, I don't know if this is why but I watch the taka fansubs.
The intro is the same as the above ( same season)
But from 172-175 theres a different intro with the same song. Its got scenes of naruto and his team, and minato and like chouja. The place its in looks unfamiliar to me so i tried searching around what arc this was but couldn't find anything.
Then I looked at episode 172 on crunchyroll and the intro was the same as the first one with pain.

Why does 172-175 have a different intro but same song? Also what episode actually has these scenes in the intro.

well maybe one intro has scenes from the movie (the lost tower? or sth like that, there was minato with one of the akamichi clan guy)

The Pain arc intro was just to look cool. It's only an opening, so don't take it too seriously. xd
I think they wanted to avoid spoiling the arc, so they focused on making an intro that didn't show off what fights were going to happen.

172-175 openings used footage from The Lost Tower movie to promote it. This is usually done when a new movie comes out, as they'll show scenes from it during the opening.

Oh yeah that makes sense !

But can someone explain why there are versions with the pain intro and the taka fansub i have has the lost towers intro.
e.g Hulu and Crunchyroll both have original intro not movie one.
