I've fiddled with this storyline a bit too much, I think. Now I've got no clue how to end it. U_U

The basic gist is prey and predators, anthropomorphized but with the same food chain relationships (think pre-Zootopia). lol War is imminent and the MC runs off. He meets other animals who have accepted the whole food chain dynamic, but with everything that came before it, him going back with that idea just seems wrong and uncharacteristic. So I'm kinda stuck on where to go from there.

Have him try to break the food chain by leaving again only to fail and die at the hands of another predator that was involved in the war the MC left.

Logical, but I'm kinda aiming for a PG rating here. lol

It doesn't need to be graphic. Have him walk for awhile until he dies then his body is eaten by another predator. Showing as hard as he tried to escape the food chain he ended up feeding into it literally. Idk, probably need a little more context to give better detailed ideas.

Well, he has others that he's leaving behind when he runs away, some romantic and some not. That's kind of the reason he is unable to accept the whole food chain thing, hence my whole debacle. lol

Wait so did he return, or is he still running? I'd like to help out...time to put my problem solving skills to use. >_>

Well, my idea for an ending is him returning with whatever knowledge he obtained, but again, coming back and telling everyone they should accept that some prey and some predators will die as part of nature doesn't sit right with me. That's where the issue comes in.

Yea that kinda sucks. (Not as an ending but from a character standpoint it sucks for them to just agree to that. xD). I think there doesn't have to be an ending just yet. He gets this knowledge and becomes extremely conflicted with this idea. Although he is conflicted by his revelation he winds up telling others about it because they deserve the right to know about this. Then perhaps people get divided on those who accept the world like it is, and those who wish to fight against it and he has to pick a side or you have a hanging ended where he vows to fight against it for as long as he lives but the reader doesn't exactly see how this plays out.

You could even go deeper into the story. After this division these anthropomorphic (is that the right word) characters who decide to fight against their beastly instincts, and refuse to accept the "circle of life" start to lose their beastly qualities overtime and become...wait for it....HUMAN! Boom bam boddabang. The ones who accept this way of life lose their human characterisitics and become the animals. BANG BANG PLOT TWIST!!!!!!!! LOL, had to give this some serious thought. >_> Still at the same food chain issue...tho.....Unless you just make humans different from what we are today. It's fiction so your humans can be veggie eating saints. LOL, Maybe the main character remains an anthromorph and tries to establish peace between the two...idk...laying ideas out there. I'm still thinking btw. U_U

Nah, you're good, man;) In all honesty (if it wasn't obvious already), this whole storyline first sprouted because I was influenced by Zootopia. So yeah, being forced to deviate from that due to copyright issues kinda blew everything to hell. xd

The idea of the problem not being solved at the end is kinda intriguing, though. Reminds me a little of Fox and the Hound. lol
