I think it's an interesting concept so far, but it depends on how well it's implemented. From a first glance, it appears that some features have been stripped and can only be used in certain types.
Hopefully that will make character selection more strategic, but avoids taking too much away from the core gameplay (i.e. can't use ultimates or awakening if you're not using the right type). It would really suck if types are too unbalanced.
