Storm Release is the kekkei genkai exclusive to Darui (and custom bios) which allows him to combine water and lightning. The base of the nature is water and mixed with the energy of lightning together making it fluid and destructive. Now there are two applications of the technique. One is through making beams of flowing energy that can strike multiple opponents. Usually having a burning property or so I assume. The second application is through creating storm clouds that can release blue or red bolts that can shock an enemy. I am not sure if I read right but these clouds drain chakra no? If I remember correctly, Hiruko was able to do that in the movie Inheritors of the Will of Fire. Storm is neutral towards lightning, weak to wind and strong towards fire and earth. Right? Lightning is energy which the water portion of it can conduct and lightning will just do what it normally does against it, cancel it out. Wind is naturally strong towards the lightning which will dissipate it however it must still contend with the water. Earth...lightning is naturally strong towards it and with the water conducting through it...just not gonna make it out alive, sensei.
Storm has a lot of potential, CJ-wise though I would have liked for there to be more canon stuff just for fun since most canon stuff has almost no usage limit. :/

Ah yes his signature technique (among others). It's the snake sign alright although it's pointed towards the target. From the thousands of times I've watched him perform it, Darui appears to create a halo first then in the center he creates what looks like an orb that then shoots out several laser beams. Based on what I saw as well, Darui can consciously manipulate where they travel as he was able to make them move when used against one of the Kin/Gin brothers. I'm wondering though, is there something more to the halo then shooting beams or is this one of those unexplained mysteries? Ah well. Nonetheless, this is a very useful technique and one that I can see myself using against wood release considering lightning is naturally strong towards it. Or am I not factoring something in?
Darui channels a precise ratio of lightning and water chakra by combining his hands (much like Yamato showed when making wood release). He then creates a halo of bright energy and in the center, originating from his joined hands, he creates more energy which appears like an orb. Separating the energy, he creates several beams of blue light. They travel forward at an incredible speed, striking your clones one by one until they are all gone. The beams are quite potent that the stray ones destroy some trees.

He can then uses these clouds to fire powerful blasts of lightning at his enemies, and as an electrified perimeter; effectively preventing his enemies from getting close. But a wind elemental technique can blow the clouds away.
Note: Cloud of rings lasts 2 turns
Do the hands signs and using your chakra create a thick ring of thunderclouds and electricity you to can be used offensively and defensively. This was used by Hiruko against naruto and his clones. This is more of an actual storm than the beams

This is an interesting technique from the movie that Hiruko comes out in. He created a small storm cloud around himself which reminds me of when you throw a smoke bomb. This, in my own opinion, hinders you a bit because I assume the storm clouds are like the movie - black. This means that your vision is compromised in that you can't see your enemy unless they enter into the cloud. Of course it electrifies but Naruto was able to get into it without any hindrance but I assume that in our rp it has a more harsh effect. While it hinders your vision, it also hinders their view of you which you can use to your own advantage. You could go underground while leaving behind a trap or launch an attack from inside although you would have to be careful too. Overall, it's tricky to use but if set up right, can be a lifesaver.

Darui, steps a ways away from his sensei and performs the three handseals as he gathered his chakra from throughout his body. Using his knowledge of how storm release works, he releases his chakra outwards, combining it with water and lightning natures and creating a small storm cloud that gives off electric shocks. He manipulates it to release lightning bolts to everything within short range of himself, destrying any clones his sensei had summoned to attack him. (Let's assume you did summon clones to attack me. >_>)
Let me know if this usage was correct as I don't know it the jutsu can do that.

After doing a sequence of 4 handseals (Rat→Dragon→Hare→Tiger) the user releases a burst of red chakra in the form of a gigantic collumn of energy that rises high into the atmosphere above him. As soon as he does so, huge cold thunderclouds gather and swirl around and above the user, covering the whole battle field. As the pitch black thunderclouds gather high above the user, the whole atmosphere becomes charged with static energy. After some time, having gathered enough thunderclouds and lightning energy, the whole energy is unleashed upon the ground descending in the form of a collum of energy (similar to the one initially triggered). As it touches the ground around the user, the collumn explands outwards, taking advantage of the moisture in the air to travel up to long range, hitting everything while clearing the skies in the process. The energy destroys anything in its wake, leaving nothing but an empty wasteland behind. Because of the massive range and chakra needed to perform this technique, the user can only make use of it a limited amount of times.
Note: Usable only twice per battle.
Note: Takes one full turn to charge completely.

They then travel upwards and expand outwards, filling the sky with that black cloud. Hiruko mentions its a "cumulonimbus cloud that expands infinitely". So based on all that, he seemingly creates it on the ground and then manipulates upwards to form this storm cloud that expands as far as long range. The red chakra is something that doesn't seem to make sense other than it "fuels" the cloud so he can manipulate it. What I observed was that he has to maintain the technique like one would do during the activation process of Sage Mode. Which means, while he is performing the technique he is vulnerable from attacks lest he cancel the technique.
Now is this the same here or different? That way I don't run into issues if I use it in a fight.
