He couldn't just summon Jiraiya, Jiraiya wouldn't last long against an Edo Itachi and EMS Sasuke. Edo Jiraiya would need support from other Edo's to stand a chance against these two

I wouldn't say that. Kabuto has planned very carefully throughout this war, so he may have kept a couple of reserved edos in case he ended up in some type of situation he's presently in.

Kabuto's going to have to summon a damn good group of Edo's to put up a fight against Edo Itachi and EMS Sasuke. That or Kabuto's "that jutsu" will have to be pretty damn powerful to stand a chance against these two. Or Kishi could just troll all of us again and summon Edo Madara therefore saving the Kages U_U

I dislike the idea of Jiraiya returning as an Edo. The character was set to rest for a reason. I would like nothing more than to see Jiraiya in a manga chapter once again, but the legacy of the character is more important; which is his will was passed onto Naruto and that his time came and went and he is now a toad lost in the vast ocean. I think Kishi has great respect particularly with Jiraiya, that his purpose as a being was accomplished as was prophesied by the great sage toad elder. While Itachi's mission as a being wasn't complete and it was necessary for him to overcome death in order for him to rest properly.

Though if Jiraiya was to return; I'd like for him to beat Itachi and to settle the score once and for all with all those Itachi lovers that J-man >/= Itachi =). Though Sasuke would easily beat Jiraiya soon after =(

The only reason why they think he'll be coming back is because his arm didn't follow him. All they need is his DNA, not his body. I'm not sure if he'll come back though. If he does it would be against Naruto. Some people want him to fight the Uchiha Brothers. o.o

Jiraiya's blood and Pain's rods were left at the location of the fight, so it's still very logical that Kabuto could've obtained his dna and can still summon him.

It's logical to say Kabuto can bring Jiraya back, but he stated than he can't summon jiraya, this might be to trick tobi, Kabuto is not a fighting type who will go against two Uchihas one is a master of sharingan and a genious and other have a EMS and very hot blood.

Summoning Jiraiya to fight Itachi and Sasuke would be meaningless given he wouldn't be able to activate sage mode. Jiraiya's not gonna stand much of a chance vs either oif those 2 without it.
