Alright, i'm actually kind of sick of people doubting the reason behind Obito's rise into his world domination plan, most of the people on this site are short-sighted and retarded enough to believe a 14 year old would want world domination JUST because of Rin's death. It's obsurd, it's the reason BEHIND Rin's death he turned the way he is.

The last thing Obito did before he 'died' to the world, is leave Rin's life to Kakashi. It was a promise, a trust thing. His reality was that his friends would protect each other. He stayed underground for a year thinking that Kakashi would fulfill the one thing that Obito asked of him before his death.

Then the day he escapes, rushing to save them, the first thing he witnesses is Kakashi not only betraying his promise, but doing it himself. Killing Rin, just to save lives.

THIS is the important part people should note, it's not Rin's death that triggers Obito's condition, it's the MEANING behind it.

Obito realizes that, it's useless to live in this reality. Where people are killed, more hatred is born and the cycle starts all over again. He realized what Jiraiya realized before he died. That love breeds hatred, out of hatred war is born, the cycle just keeps going. And the only way to stop the cycle; Is to create a dream world, where no one can get hurt, where what happened to RIN, can not happen to ANYONE else.

Madara's idea to create a dream world sparked an idea in Obito, he could make sure that what happened to Rin wouldn't happen to others by doing it himself, becoming apart of the plan.

So sure, Rin's death triggered the reaction, but it's not her death that exactly caused him to turn that way. He realized the meaning of the world, and wanted to change it.

So all in all, Obito's intentions are pure, but Naruto has seen a different light and intends to change the world's cycle of hatred. Obito doesn't believe it.

Actually, why am I explaining all of this? It's written in the manga every f**king week, Obito talking about this 'useless' reality and that it's no use blaming the people of this 'useless reality.' Re-read the manga over and over NB until you get it through your thick skulls that Obito's intentions aren't because of Rin's death.

It's still a pretty pathetic reason for starting a war with the intention of creating a whole new world.

I feel sad for all of you, if you don't get Obito's intentions then you've pretty much skipped the entire theme of the manga called 'Naruto.'

You're still thinking like half of these NBers, look at the BIG PICTURE.

He didn't want what happened to Rin, to happen to ANYONE else. He realized that the reality is useless if what happened with Rin happens every day, that it happens to others in the world.

Why live through a horrible reality when you can create a better one for everyone?

Is Obito's resolve ^^^

I've been getting sick of the jokes too they're funny but it gets me upset when people actually believe that's the entire reason why someone would go that crazy.

I'm talking about the bigger picture.

Obito should know that what happened to rin happens all the time, It's the shinobi world, he is taught this during his training. If he thought stuff like this didn't happen then he was naive and must of thought being a shinobi is all about sunshine and rainbows.
It seems obito has no problems killing enemy shinobi, Who have family/friends/loved ones, but gets his pink little panties in a bunch when it happens to someone he knows.

You're hitting it dead on, but not realizing the meaning of it.

He was NAIVE before Rin's death, he knew it happened, but hadn't yet experienced the harshness of the reality himself yet. He hadn't known that losing someone made you feel that way.

When Rin died, and he felt what so many billions of people in the world had already felt before him, he didn't want it to happen no more. He wanted to change the reality so that he wouldn't have to share his pain.

I love Obito's character, it's just so well built and the reality behind it all makes him the strongest personality in the entire manga right now. When Obito offered out his hand to Naruto this chapter, to make him escape from the world's reality, just made me believe in this more.

You think you're looking at the big picture, you're hitting it dead on, but you're still short-sighted to the big picture.

Take Rin out of the picture... Would he done anything then? No. So you can name 1000 of reasons behind Rin's death, but that's the main fuel that keeps him going. Cause and consequence.
