In this thread I'll defend characters with "stolen" powers.
Why are powers considered "stolen" in the first place? Because the powers aren't their's to begin with, yes? Well by that logic Sasuke stole Chidori from Kakashi, him having Kakashi's blessing is irrelevant. See the hypocrisy?
How do characters gain abilities? Through practice, yes? Who says this is the only way? A Shinobi can use anything he has to further his strength. For example, Kabuto uses his intelligence to gain Orochimaru's power. Danzo uses his agents and influence to gain Hashirama and Shisui's power. How someone gains power is irrelevant, if they have it and can use there is nothing stopping them from having it and using it.
There is obviously a bias when it comes to stolen powers. A great many people freak when Kabuto takes this foreign power concept to the extreme, yet when Naruto does it with Kyuubi everyone is silent. Why is that, I wonder?
Kabuto has (had) foreign power, he can use it, what's stopping him? Absolutely nothing. If someone can use a power as their own with no strings attached, it's theirs to use.
Danzo has foreign power, see above.
Madara has foreign power, see above.
Obito has foreign power, see above.
Sasuke has foreign power, see above.
Naruto has foreign power, see above.
Naruto and Sasuke use Kyuubi's power and Itachi's eyes, but Kabuto does something that's the exact same in concept he's the devil. It's insane.
As a footnote: Sasori uses the 3rd Kazekage puppet for his Jiton, yet everyone gives Sasori the 3rd Kazekage as part of his power even though it's not part of Sasori's original power, why is that?
Also, as my friend AncientCenturion mentioned, what about Ao? The Kiri shinobi with the literally stolen Byakugan? No one ever questions him.
