I speculate it is the evil that comes along with eating the forbidden fruit of the god tree kaguya ate, it representes the darkness of the uchihas and takes shape in the form of susanno ( Tengu).

It is the same thing which was shown in the 5 cage arc where sasuke fought the Kumo ninjas and put cee in a genjutsu.
I think the opposite of the devil thing is the budda of hashirama or the ashura biju avatar.
