So many of you may have heard: next year Steven Colbert is leaving the Colbert Report, and hosting the late show in place of David Letterman.
While this is a huge honor for colbert, this ISN'T the colbert report. He isn't going to be the character he is for that show. The "democrat sarcastically acting like a republican" thing is going to end with that show.
This is effectively the end of "steve colbert" and now we're going to see the real steve colbert. That being said, he's still going to be funny and entertaining, and truth be told, for years, i wished he'd break character more often. He's excited to play regular steven colbert and so am i. What do you guys think about this news?
