[Discussion] Sternritter Cang-Du

I just wanted to get your opinion on the character and somewhat of a rant on my part.

At first I thought he was the most badass sternritter because well he looked awesome and he was always quiet, so he omitted that presence of being calm and calculated, much like Itachi.

What made him even more badass was when Juhabach announced that Uryuu would become his successor, he was like IDGAF and was so nonchalant about the news when everyone else was shocked.

So it gave me hope that he would be one of the most powerful sternritter.

But then, it was surprising to hear him talk in the new chapter, and I was somewhat dissapointed with his dialogue.

He started showing expressions of shock, anger, and hubris which really brought down his cold demeanor when they first introduced him.

He had the potential to be the most interesting sternritter

and he also proved to be really weak, getting defeated by Captain Hitsugaya in one chapter when Bazz-B was destroying him and saying how his power was able to offset Yamamoto's flame.....so why is Cang-Du this weak?

His defeat and sudden attitude change was reminiscent of Juha Bachs doppelganger, where he started to cry and be really weak when he was first introduced to be incredibly power.

well those are just my thoughts, hopefully Cang-Du can redeem himself and break out of the cross.

well unless you want major spoilers, I can't say lol

but to summarize, he's a member of the final group of villains in Bleach

Of course he's not finished off.

This is Bleach we're talking about, where powerups come out of nowhere.

Unless you're Unohana... In which case your supposed mastery of every sword style goes out the window and you fight JUST like Kenpachi. And die before getting to show off the true understanding of her OP bankai.


OT: Sounded like he was done, though he seemed to have an air pocket near his mouth. I'd like to see his full power. I also thought he'd be a badass. Sad if he really got rocked.

Actually was thinking the same about As "The Fear" Nodt... Who was seemingly a powerful/intelligent member and then randomly bull rushed Yamamoto... Except he (who I originally thought was a girl...) Didn't die.

I prefer he show that bundle of emotions though. That mysterious demeanor should only be kept for a select amount of characters. I don't think he was intended to be anything more than a page filler tbh. No point on building a character up just to be killed off in such a short amount of time. But who knows, he could still show something.

Yeah I'm just going on the Bleach Wikki... Would prefer As Nodt to be a girl. Otherwise it looks like Yu Yu Hakusho's Karasu is making a cameo lol.

As for personality... I honestly thought for the most part Chang-Du fit the personality. Now I hated his "they don't have souls" crap... I mean the same guy who could care less on a changing of Kingship goes on about how their greatest rivals who they've studied to a core... Don't have a soul connection with Zanpaktou.


But I'd say he was calm despite being completely screwed over. He didn't expect the Bankai deal so he had a wide eye moment... But he didn't flip out. His only complaint was a "shit", but kept a serious demeanor when faced with Hyorinmaru.

Still probably my favorite Sternritter alongside Hachwald, Nodt, BG-9 (appearance), and possibly Bambeatta. I'm probably completely missing an epic Sternritter which is depressing.

yeah I agree, and Hachwald is certainly the best imo

I just hope he maintains his personality in a tough situation, kinda like Ulquiorra


also I too found that odd how the Sternritter were supposed to have all the intel on the bankai, but didn't know they had a soul.....that's like the most basic thing
