I know the hype for DBZ Movie & Naruto Road to Ninja is all high - but to be honest, this is going to be the Best Anime Movie of 2013.

What released last year was an OVA on Blu-Ray edition. Which was exceptionally wonderful btw and gave a more conclusive ending to Steins;gate. This movie is releasing in 2013. See the trailer - it states the date of release and much more about the storyline.

20 April in Japan. Hopefully, we'll get the subbed version by end of the year, or they may release a DVD by that time, which will give a subbed HD version. Can't wait for it ~ looks epic; gave me chills just by the OST & trailer....

Well, the OVA last year, gave a wonderful ending already...despite the fact that Episode 24's open ending was also wonderfully written.

There's no synopsis that I found about the movie but if we merge the 2 trailers, then the storyline of the movie is something like that:

As 1 year passed on in the new world line, lab members started forgetting Okabe. Okabe, with his reading steiner, is now facing his own psyche as on one hand, he's happy to have save his dear ones but on the other hand, he's devastated about how he's being erased slowly...Kurisu seems to be the only one that have fading memories of Okabe and their shared moments as her emotions goes beyond world-lines. With her knowledge, she creates a timeleap machine (the first in this new world line) to find out where all the memories are coming from and how to "free" Okabe? What happens afterwards is the crux of the story, with arguably lots of twists and surprises in store...

The setting for Steins;Gate is so perfect, that with a proper script-writer, they can keep churning out very high-standards works, be it an OVA or Movie.

We'll see. There's also Kizumonogatari, a Gintama Movie, a AnoHana movie (though this one is mostly a re-edited version) and more...
But I do feel that Steins;Gate is going to produce something stellar....yet again!!!

Shit I'm looking forward to Kizumonogatari as well. I imagine Anohana will just be the series compressed into a film, which isn't really anything new

I'm not sure, I think Steins;Gate ended very well, and the special wrapped it up really nicely, so I'm content with the series as it is. I'm not sure how Steins;Gate can follow up on that without ruining the premise of the show, but I can't judge until I've actually seen it.

Me too, though I'm more interested in the Second Series of Monogatari than the movie but both could be great...
Yeah, AnoHana will mostly be that, with probably some new scenes but essentially the same premise. Still, one of the rare share of criticism that Anohana got was that, certain scenes could have been edited as they "seemingly" diluted some portions. It's not really something I agree with, but who knows, maybe it might be a nice re-visit afterall...

I agree with the first line that both endings were nearly perfect and that it's risky step to continue the series. However, many also said that the OVA was similarly risky after the series, but it was great. They have such a plot and content in hand, that I think that this movie might be the 3rd perfect strike. By the trailer, it seems that this one will also go deeper into Kuristina's psyche this time along with Okabe. I'm highly positive by the 2 trailers right now, so I do hope that any share of skepticism will fade completely after the movie.

I was excited for this movie, but wow, that trailer looks amazing. Honestly this could end up being just as good as the TV series, and Steins;Gate was one of my favorite anime so that says a lot.

It's gonna suck to wait like half a year for subs, but in the end I'm sure it'll be worth it. It's easy to be skeptical considering how high the series already set the bar, but with a trailer like that how can any fan of the series not be interested? It's a really interesting premise and I can't wait to see how they execute everything.

Well, there aren't any raw versions online either. :eww: So, that makes it further difficult for any Fansubs Groups to translate it. U_U Which probably means that we might have to wait, till the Blu-Ray DVD gets released which might be in months I know, I'm dying too.
