In an interview, Kishimoto asserted that making the villains "flamboyant" was one of his "guiding principles," and attributed this to his desire to have the villains have a "powerful aura."[7] When asked if Orochimaru was still good, Kishimoto answered that Orochimaru is "truly good" and that he is one of the several "hopeless evil characters" that appear in the series.

do you think this has any significance? what does it mean to you???? opinions????

just wondering...

It means that Orochimaru's character is way deeper than many people thought.

Oro used to be good, like any other konoha ninja, but he witnessesd people close to him die ... at least that's what i believe... First it was his mother and father.. then i think the thing that made him search for immortality was when Nawaki died.
....Oro was his squad leader .....Oro actually liked nawaki, was amused by his jokes etc

then he died on a mission..
after than, oro started his descent into darkness, he searched for immortality because to him human life was too fragile , he was at the point of no return from there.... which is where sasuke could end up if naruto doesn't stop him now..

lawl really? o.o , But yea, oro actually feeling sad for a person is rare, this is why he killed emotions and making any connections with other people

only time we ever saw him feel sorrow or look depressed like that again, was visiting his parents grave with hiruzen

Honestly I believe Oro didn't give a crap about Nawaki.

Yeah, I love Orochimaru, I like him more than Kabuto or Tobi, but I think that what Kishimoto wanted to say is how relevant would be Orochimaru in the serie. Well, we have a Kabuto with Orochimaru cells and a Suigetsu who discovered a secret from Orochimaru that seems to be important.

I think it means that Orochimaru is truly a good villain. I think his most successful in conception, design, personality. Oro is the best and we need to see him again.

All truely evil characters were once good...
They see themselves as righting the past's worngs...
They always see what their doing as the right thing...
The end justifes the means...

I think Orochimaru is a bit different though. Most of the villains in this series believe they are helping mankind in some way or another. But there are a few like Oro, Sasori, and Hidan that just do it cos they're sociopaths.
