starting new job at ups

I just got a call to start working next Monday as a part-time package handler, but Im only working here becauae of the benefits and they pay for college tuitions.

But I came here to ask if anybody ever worked there because I heard about people walking out on the first day because the job was to hard.

Yes it is and I already have a job paying $5,500 a month and I stay in Miami where my apartments monthly bill is only $1,500 a month.

That cover up with the shared accounts thing is about as legit as your 'MENSA certificate'.

OT: Yeah, I heard UPS actually pays pretty well, however it's hard work. I considered getting a summer job there as well but I was taught never to make a commitment unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help. And seeing as that job would mean some form of carrying things I can't see myself working there, perhaps an internship at an office or something would be better suited for someone like me.

I was a package handler for FedEx all of two weeks before I was fired. That was completely my fault, trying to pick up a second job that was 4-8:30 in the morning.


But no it sucks. I live in Oklahoma, it gets pretty hot here. Even at night, if its 70 degrees out, expect it to be closer to 90 in the warehouse. That's the tough part, loading packages wasnt difficult but man that heat gets to you.
