We all came up with tons of ideas on who tobi really was. It couldn't simply be obito, that would be dumb.

Future theories should be quite simple. Thinking too hard guys Not that that's a bad thing.

Sadly, you have a point. Then again this would be the only identity of tobi which would have an impact on us. Kishi will make the back story complicated to compensate for tobi being obito.

it is for kids, but it's been running for 10-12 years now? how long? he should know that the core of his fanbase are no longer kids, even the avatar series grew up a little from AtLA to LoK....

Loved that series, haven't watched LoK yet though. Was sad panda about it not being about Aang.

In reality, it was smart for Kishi to stick with Tobi being Obito. It may have seemed stupid to most people and a ton of plot holes do exist, but it is much better overall, imo, that Tobi is Obito simply because it does make things simple.

If Tobi had been anyone else, their hair would have obviously been changed and no one on the battleground would have recognized him. Tobi being Izuna would only have been possible if Madara was on the scene at the time.

Anyway, I agree with you that theories need simplifying nowadays. The fact that Kishi went with Tobi being Obito and Rin's death being the cause of his betrayal really makes complicated theories outside the norm nowadays.
