Hip Hop is a music genre and a culture. In terms of music genre Rap = Hip Hop. It's not that hard too understand guys.

Hip-hop is a culture. Hip-hop music is a genre; Rapping, DJing, and Break-music/dancing. The only part of Hip-hop that is not part of Hip-hop music is graffiti.

No its a culture that contains rap as a style od music. There's no need to make it one and the other. It already has it. Saying "in terms of music" is redundant.

No, I keep telling you how it is.

But we are running in circles, if you don't want to accept it, so be it.
Wikipedia. Cute.

Anyways I'll continue speaking truth:

What constitutes the CULTURE called hip-hop:

Visual form: graffiti
Vocal form: rap(mc'ing)
Dance form: break dancing
Musical form: sampling(dj'ing)

None of the 4 is synonymous with hiphop despite being the culture of hiphop.

You don't call graffiti hiphop.
You don't call break dancing hip hop.
You don't call sampling hip hop.
So why call rap hip hop?

Lol

Cute how stubborn you are denying that wiki link. Just google "hip hop genre " and look at all the hits. Hip Hop is a officialy recognized Music genre, deal with it. You don't have to explain the hip-hop culture. I know it pretty well, probably better than you. Doesn't change the fact that the music genre can be called hip hop aswell. If someone asks "what music genre do you like?" and the person answers with "hip hop" it's totally fine and correct.

You're all partly right. Hip-hop and rap are different styles of songwriting, that is the main difference. But on an album you'll see a mix of both of these styles of writing. Which is why Hip-Hop/Rap are usually labeled together.

Rap music is usually someone hoping on the beat playing with words, the beat is usually constant and the lyrics are the main focus. Usually isn't a chorus lyrically, more like long verses throughout.

While Hip-hop is rap focused for the purpose of following song structures based of blues, jazz, funk, RnB and soul, etc. But the words are most of the time suppose to support the music rather than the focus.

See the the difference? It's simple really.

I deny it because wiki can be edited by anyone. Where as trill posted videos of RAPPERS(credible ones at that) telling you it's not one and the same and you deny that. Lol

Ppl saying they like hip hop music doesn't mean anything because as I've said 1 million times the culture contains rap.

Me and Sasukethemo both posted videos of rappers mentioning hip-hop as a genre in their tracks.

Hmm but you yourself mentioned that you can't call rap hip-hop just as you can't call spraying hip-hop. So why is it suddenly ok to answer "What do you listen to?" With "Hip Hop? Contradicting much?

No you're just slow. I'm not engaging in a circular argument over things I already covered.
Well I disproved all your arguements and now your throwing out insults, pretty sad but that's just the way you handle things as we have all seen a couple of times on this forum, like a little b!tch: :lol

Now that everythings said, have a nice day.

Ha, true! Seems like we think and like the same when it comes to music.

Dude you think Game is dope, which already tells me enough on how much you know about hip hop. :lol

So funny how these 2 are in full denial that the hip hop music genre exists when it's mentioned everywhere.
