Wasn't it argued that this is just chakra redirect? No way in hell did he properly block all of those with a chakra layer that big; if he could do that, he should have had much less of an issue against Kidomaru.

The layer can be expanded , chakra redirect could/would not simply leave the weapons in that perfect formation.

Against kidomaro Kaiten was still more way efficient since blasted away the attacks and the second time kaiten was used it was halted by chkra stopping chakra webs halting the expantion/rotation of neji's chakra.

Ntn stops neji from expanding his chakra layer since he already shown he can expand chakra released from the body as a whole.

U can argue that it would likely take more chakra to expand the chakra layer , but not that its impossible simply because kaiten is more uselful for certain situations and used exclusively when plot demanded it , even against attacks where it clearly wasnt needed and when chakra/redirect or chakra/layer would've been more useful and chakra sparing.

I really hate that scan XD I totally understand why you say that the only logical explanation is that Neji can expand his chakra layer, because if it was Kaiten, where's the crater, and if it was chakra redirect, the formation of the weapons doesn't really make sense. I feel like Kishi just screwed up (Neji standing in a crater wouldn't really make his move seem all that cool, it would look like Tenten was owning him XD) but a scan is a scan.

I'll wait to see what Curse says, if he's still arguing for Sukon.

1. Whether Neji can simultaneously use offensive gentle fist attacks while having a chakra shroud around him?
2. Whether Neji can anticipate and react to Sakon/Ukon taking over even in CQC?
3. Their speed and taijutsu prowess?

Dwl kaiten was showcased a mere 3 chapters after that scan lol kishi didnt screw anything up.

-Neji standing in a crater would've added more mystery with him bein in a crater surrounded by weapons and tenten saying "not a scratch , perfect neji!" with neji being in the middle of a friekn crater dwl.

People would wonder if tenten blew neji up and he somehow survived while in the same spot ..

So even if u go that route , mine still makes much more sense dwl...

What points do you guys want me to address?

But what I mean when I say Kishi screwed up is that the actual technique Neji must have done to accomplish this feat in the training with Tenten scan, standing still while expanding chakra layer to repel attacks without spinning, is never performed afterwards, he just uses straight up Kaiten or chakra redirect. XD

Your theory is plausible, but it comes down to whether Curse believes that we can assign feats to characters which they haven't actually used in a panel. Even if that Tenten practice scan implies that Neji can use it that way, it remains that we've never seen it actually performed. Obviously I can't disprove something that was never addressed one way or the other in the manga.
