Maybe it is not gentle fist, wasn't Gai able to use air to create impacts ? Look at hirudora, Evening elephant..

Gais uses his punch speed to do that

Gentle fist uses chakra..i guess the chakra is compressed and then released in an instant to push the air resulting in air palm

You can always steal a byakugan if you really wanted to. Maybe a Hyuuga dies. Highly doubtful. Plenty of other ways to buff Bolt.

Gentle fist > shitty punches and kicks with shadow clones.

He can still **** up organs and stuff even if he doesn't hut a lucky spot.

Neji vs Hinata in the chuunin exams was brutal. Dat speed, blood being coughed up, internal bleeding. With a regular opponent you's slowely be numbing/shutting down down with every touch.

No you cant sigh... its borderline useless without byakugan. It only does damage if you hit an inner coil surrounding the organ. The facts are in the op. I wish people would read threads more likebkn 2012

Reposting this because thread was deleted for such a petty reason. I took the liberty of adding some more facts as to why Bolt cannot use this technique to it's full potential.Spoilers about the movie below.




I once said it was possible to use gentle fist without Byakugan to Hyuuga fans who liked to give Byakugan pointless abilities when comparing it to the sharigan. However, using gentle fist without byakugan is just fail and there is no logical way Bolt is using that ability effectively prodigy or not.



Before you guys start rioting just at the facts and what I have to say.




Gentle fist style is awesome. It's arguably the strongest taijutsu style.

Byakugan gives you sight that surpasses the 3t sharigan, that allows you see the inner coils in a persons chakra system.

The reason why Hyuugas are so effective with gentle fist is because of this ability. Using their knowledge and sight of the chakra system they know exactly where to strike and take down an opponents use of chakra.


Not even moves like air palm can be used effectively without pinpointing the pressure points.

If Bolt is using gentle fist and doesn't have the byakugan the technique loses it's effectiveness.He would have just been better off learning rock lees taijutsu or kenjutsu like Sasuke did.


I'm not bashing Bolt here but there is logically no way he can use gentle fist on the same level as Hinata/Neji and other Hyuuga members. This is strictly Kishi's fault for not thinking clearly when making Bolts arsenal.

I don't know if it was ever stated or not whether Hyuuga are born with their Byakugan already active. From what we've seen it would imply that they are but it's not been said. Bolt may be able to "unlock" Byakugan later.

Sharingan is activated by hatred/anger's reaction to chakra and loss of a close one. Maybe Gentle Fist(as in the name) is awoken by the chakra's reaction to some emotion like Love or Happiness.

I know what you might be thinking "but Hinata got it and no one loved her", to that I say; when she was an only child her father counted on her to be the heir so he gave her attention and care so she developed the feelings to spark Byakugan(in this theory) then her sister was born and she was looked over this caused her feelings of love and family connection to drop which is why she was so weak with her Byakugan in part 1. It was after part 1 when Neji helped train her that her feeling of love/family grew and she began to improve, then when she believed Naruto acknowledged her feelings it grew more. As I type more of this it grows from a thought to a plausibility, maybe gentle fist is the opposite of Sharingan since they came from the same lineage but different aspects.

Gentle fist isn't all about hitting tenketsu when they can simpily hit organs which it doesn't require byakugan for precision. Anyone with the basic knowledge of human structural body can determine where to strike such as kabuto with chakra scalpel was able to cut out the body tissues without having a dojutsu

I've had enough of you're bad wording sorry. Its an attack that would of knocked shikadai down to the floor if connected. Also an attack Boruto learned in such a young age without byakugan. An attack with a lot of power in it regardless what you say. Sure byakugan would make it even more deadly but who cares it still has a lot of power.

That is a completely different situation. Neji thought the fight was over then Naruto came out of the ground.
Either way you chose how you want to fight and Boruto can do both.

Why don't we actually see it in combat more than a two second preview before you start hailing it as ineffective.

Kishimoto knows what he is doing for the most part, he always does.
