Just finished watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens with some friends and family last night who'm I invited. From a personal standpoint it was a really enjoyable experience since it featured the return of the true major cast of the franchise, that being Han Solo, Luke Skywalker(even though at the end, to hype up the sequel) an of course R2-D2!

Also to praise is the development of our new heroes, that being Finn(the former Storm Trooper who now aids the Resistance) and the Force-awakening Rey, both of who'm had their respective stories told rather perfectly, though I do have to admit that they could had explored just a tiny bit more with Finn in terms of exposition for his character before he defected at the beginning of the movie.

Another thing that I really loved was the soundtrack, especially for the one that was associated the most with Rey, something about it just screams "I am the new hero" completely around her, especially at the beginning of the movie.

Will update this in a bit since there's much to write down, but feel free to share your personal opinions on the latest installment of Star Wars!

one thing i have never gotten, how do the various death stars move? they have never seemed to be particularly mobile, they just are wherever the empire/first order needs them to be.

The film was amazing and most people are critisizng it unjustly in my opinion. I have already watched it twice, and i can assure that it its quite different from A New Hope, surely far from a remake, like some try to say. The new characters are great. A few characters were underdeveloped, but this is just the first movie, there is still time for everyone to shine. The movie stands up to the originals. JJ has truly outdone himself.

If it was just "The Force" then why would Tarkin be sceptical about it. Dialogue between Vader and Tarkin would definately imply that the Death Star and The Force are different.

The Death Stars are space stations. They have engines, and even hyperdrive. That's how the first Death Star made it to Yavin 4 in A New Hope to get within firing range.

... the image of a gigantic sphere traveling through hyperspace just popped up in my head, and now I'm amused. :lol
