If you didn't see my "First Thoughts" thread here you go:
I will be throwing out spoilers, and probably doing the entire games spoilers so I will warn you and there will be a summary at the end with no spoilers. You will be warned when I plan on spoiling a big part.
So inFAMOUS Second Son was awesome. Seriously go buy it now. . .well no, wait till it's on sale honestly. The game is fantastic, great gameplay, soundtrack is mellow and appropriate, the new innovations are a step n the right direction as well. But there are plenty of things in the game that I would have liked to have been expanded on or maybe brought into a more prominent role.
Let's start with the main characters, there aren't a lot. You've got the Hero (or anti-hero) Delsin Rowe, a punk street artist with dreams of doing something greater and thinking that he's important. He's got the power to take other people's powers and that's the main focus of the game and they do it pretty well. He's kind of a lame character, kinda lacking some needed depth for a protagonist. No backstory just kinda "Here he is now go have fun." You get 4 powers: smoke, neon, video, and concrete. Sounds kinda lame compared to Cole's powers from the first 2 games but they are awesome. My favorite was easily video.
Next up are the 3 main supporting characters: Delsin's brother Reggie first, he's kinda lame. Typical overprotective older brother who is afraid of "Bio-Terrorists" (people with powers). He never really strays from that either. He kinda starts calling Delsin's friends "Conduits" instead of "Bio-Terrorists" but that's really the only development he gets. Following spoiler for ending:
The next 2 are sort've spoilers and you can skip this part, needless to say they are the main supporting characters but you don't really see them much after their main missions and the ending. That's kind of it and I really wanted to see more of them because when they all team up it's pretty awesome.
Now for our main baddie: Brook Augustine. You also don't see her much past the beginning and the end. She has the concrete powers that you see her and all the bad guys in the game have (You never see the process in how they give them their concrete powers from her, but it's alright we don't care anyway). She's kind of. . .boring. She rarely shows emotion in the handful of times you see her other than ambient observation. Though she's rather sadistic and cruel when it comes to getting her way. For example she puts concrete shards in the Akomish tribes legs and bodies as a way to interrogate them, which is what drives the plot in the first place. She's just kind of a *****.
These are the spoilers for the ending:
Now if you've read reviews it says that the plot is kind of shallow, which is true. It's also really short if you blow straight through it. No real twists or turns, just very straightforward and no bullshit. I really hope they come out with an Expansion or something to really complete this story and game.
The game play is great, mostly because of all the different powers that you get. It will basically cater to your style of playing once you get all the powers. My favorites in order are Video, Neon, Smoke, and Concrete. I only didn't like concrete is because it's a little reckless and being Good doesn't really like recklessness.
The world isn't that big either, and in comparison to the first 2 inFAMOUS's you really feel let down by that, or at least I did.
So to Summarize: The game is really fun and entertaining. The plot is kind of lacking, but if you're not really into plot than this will be fun for you. Characters are shallow and supporting characters are rather nonexistent. I really started to get the feeling that the game was really rushed, like they were trying to cram as much in as possible in their time constraint. I would have rathered them take their time and made a huge flowing game with a lot more potential and story development. If I left anything out that you were curious about just leave me a comment or VM or PM me, I'd be happy to talk about it.
Great game, I'd give it a 8.5-9/10 and I will certainly be replaying it in the future.

Then he dies in the of so cliche "I've gotta die to save you" speech when the main baddie encases him in concrete and he falls to his death.

Abigail "Fetch" Walker: Ex-druggie character with Neon powers with a personal vendetta against drug dealers after she and her brother turned into junkies and she killed him by accident. She's actually pretty cool, she's obsessed by revenge and you can choose to harness that for yourself or turn her towards the path of mercy. Either one actually gets you a very good, albeit quick, character development I enjoyed.
And Eugene Sims: He's a typical nerd with video powers that are ****ing sweet. He summons angels and demons from a video game to fight for him and other than that he kinda doesn't do much himself. He's afraid of the outdoors and people, and you can break him of that or turn him into a powerful anti-conduit killer.
Both of those guys are fun, but after the two missions with them you really don't see much more of them and it made me really upset because they were cool, potentially complex characters, and it just felt really abandoned.

Turns out she's a "bad-guy-with-good-intentions" type of bad guy. She wants to save her "people (Conduits) by imprisoning them for safety from the military and normal people. Doesn't seem like a too compelling of a plan for me, mostly because that's not really a long term goal, and she basically tortures the Conduits in the prison she built for them.
