Spoilers in signatures

It's nothing much, but..
Here's the snippet from the Global rules of NB:

Spoilers: Not everyone is at the same point of the anime or manga; Respect that by placing the Spoiler Tags where appropriate. Also, please make sure that your thread's title does not contain any spoilers either. This is to protect the members that aren't fully up to date with the latest manga releases. If you can't refrain yourself from doing so, then the staff of NB will change the title(s) of your thread(s) and you will receive warnings/infractions. Allow your creativity to take the place of names or battle outcomes etc.

It says it'll result in warnings and infractions, but I'm wondering; since so many are doing this already(using quite the spoiling pictures in their sigs and also avy sometimes), are members actually being warned about it?

Idk, it just seems to me as if the staff is very lenient about it or forgot about the rule entirely? Maybe it's a hopeless situation? I mean, if many are doing this, then it'd be quite the work to give infractions to all of them, right?
Or maybe this doesn't apply to signatures and avatars?

Just wondering, not complaining(just a lil' bit). I simply want to be clear about it, nothing else, because it is clearly a very efficient way of spoiling things for those who haven't read thus far, and note this; I'm not actually saying that people whom does have these kind of pics in their sigs are doing this with the explicit purpose of spoiling for others, because in my case I've found myself wanting to use a lot of epic moments in the manga in my sig, since it's cool, not because I was thinking of spoiling for others. Yeah..

So.. I just want to know.

I'm just complaining a little, since it'd be sad to spoil it for someone who's super-hyped for the next chapter, then before even reading it, sees a picture which practically says a lot about what's going to happen in the 'Naruto Discussion' section the coming week.
And, it's the rule saying that, not me, I'm just wondering if it applies to sigs and avys.

Either way, I'm more inclined to point at the more extreme examples such as

SPOILER! SPOILER: Kakashi and Tobi sharing the same Sharingan type, which we saw in the recent chapter.

I never have seen Pain arc in sub ( I skipped it cause it's coming soon in dub )
Sometimes it annoys me to see a "part" in someones sig xd

Well TBH it could work both ways, you're saying it's called consideration for others, well it can also be a consideration for others to put an epic moment in their sigs and not put it in an ugly spoiler that'll ruin the whole purpose of the white space that'll be your sig. See this is how it works you want people to considerate with you and others want you to considerate with them. .-. so I don't think it'll work IMO

I agree, it could be consideration for others to put an epic pic in your sig, but there is a difference when the pic you put there is simply one of Sasuke or

or whomever, just standing there and looking cool. I don't think there is much spoiler in that, but when you put a pic which shows key moments in the series, for example; things such as plot twists etc. , THEN, then I think there should be restraints. At least put a spoiler tag around the pic or something?

Besides, even IF one is conscious about what's ugly or not in a signature, consideration of others is still more important in my eyes.

But, if we are to be realistic, I don't think many will follow this rule.

Yes it is against rules and sometimes we warn people. Some people got negative repped and flamed for it as well at times because they added a spoiler pic to their signature too soon.

But with new manga up people spam and ignore so many rules that it becomes a drop in the sea. Staff cannot check them all and after a few hours it becomes pointless.

What you guys should do is to add spoiler tags to your signature if you are using a spoiler from the freshly made one from the latest manga. Or wait a few hours ( or a day)at least before adding it in your signature.

All the You tube videos require spoiler tags all the time whether they are spoiler for a manga or not. Signature images shouldn't exceed 650*300 pixels.

These rules are basically for the benefit of everyone as large images cause problems for the slow intenet users and hog bandwidth. It is damn annoying to see an emoticon reply covering half the page due to someone using a wall papers as signature as it is.

Can we expect people to be considerate instead of being self absorbed and complaing about the rules which benefit them all? Perhapas not.

Only for those who are far behind in the manga and if they are told. Otherwise not that much of s spoiller.

On the other hand the day Tobi Id is revealed and if someone puts up the face of real Tobi or revealed his ID in a signature before most of the members have read the chapter they may deserve a rebuke.

We do not tryy to be too strict about this but let's keep it within reason.
