nope, he got the confession he wanted, everyone knows the Mountain takes orders from Tywin - hearing the words from Gregor's mouth himself is a confirmation for Oberyn which cost him his life.

ehhh in the books tyrion tells him the mountain did all that, but said tywin didnt give the order....so he wanted the mountain to confess that tywin was the one that told him to kill them...........the show i guess it's debatable tho
