So I literally just finished Andromeda and feel quite content. I'm not sure how many have played but the game has come under fire for being buggy and having horrible face animations.

My Opinion? The game was set up for failure before they ever came out with it. ME3 left people empty, myself included. Bioware chose to focus of what they were lacking rather than what had made them popular in the past (dialogue and relationships). While it is true that the face animations are sub par it shouldn't ruin the game like other fans are saying in my opinion. The story is well done (predictable at times) but if you played any of the previous of course it would be predictable. I bought the game to explore a new galaxy with the main protagonist and thats exactly what I did. I feel that too many other reviews are people who bought the game knowing there wouldn't be a shepard but expecting a shepard "like" game anyway.

The planets are gorgeous and the overhaul on customization reminds me a lot of dragon age inquisition. The game is buggy at times but nothing a good game reset won't fix. Except a few that I have seen.

The romance options are a little limited but the ones that are available are very well done and emotional. I chose to be a male Ryder and romance with Peebee and found that it was my favorite looking the rest up youtube.

Andromeda doesn't get nearly as much love as it deserves. I give it a solid 7/10

Has anyone else played it? As big of a fan of Mass Effect as I am? Let me know what you think please.

I think most of the short comings is due to it being published by EA. They demand a lot out of their developers and most of them can't simply keep up with it.

Most of the bugs really has been due to the game engine being swapped over to frostbyte 2.

They assigned a new animation director with a team that is not familiar with the game engine so that's probably why it ended up being like what it is now. I hate the shitty bugs and really frustrating loading time. It freezes from time to time, it causes a lag spike loading areas.

Other than that everything is great. I like the idea, the story, the places, have not finished yet. Heck I might not even be close and I've spent almost 3 days playing it. Shame how there's only like 2 alien races though.

Combat is amazing, I hate the melee system. It has become irrelevant now compared the last game.

Interesting points, I'm glad someone else is enjoying it as much as I am...who will you romance or don't you?

My favorite was ME1 because it just had SO MUCH to do and the RPG aspect of it was great. I have yet to try Andromeda though but I plan on it in the future.

I'm planning to get it in the future when it gets patched a bit. But I've heard that the writing isn't very good (in terms of dialogues and decisions). How does it compare to DAI? I was glad when I've heard that they got rid of the paragon/renegade system, but then I've read that whatever replaced it wasn't very interesting. I wish they just did the approval system like in DA. I like it when your decisions aren't black and white.

Its worth the buy and the customization system is similar to DAI. The dialogue options aren't as good as the previous games but I didn't see the problem that other people saw with it. They did get rid of the Paragon/Renegade system and replaced it.....with nothing really instead of a good bad meter you get 4 options of dialogue that are logical, professional, emotional, and casual. I would recommend this game to anyone.

I am planning to get it but I dunno. I mean, I love action games and fun combat is a big factor, but I also like it when the roleplay options are interesting. For example, in DAI I could RP as my Inquisitor in a certain way that wasn't strictly heroic or evil. I actually felt like I could give her a rather well-defined personality, and there were always dialog options that fit with it. I didn't have to worry about filling up any meters, I felt like I could shape my character. And of course there's the approval system. I managed to get onto everyone's good sides by accident, and I really like the fact that you don't have to romance anyone to get those special scenes and dialogues. And then there's the banter, of course. I really hoped Andromeda would have this level of, er, role-playability.

I am currently on my second play through of the game and to be honest, I actually love this game, I have been playing Mass Effect since it was first released and to be honest I was glad they didn't have the do or die scenario in this one that they had in ME1 and 2 as far as squad mates are concerned Now as far as the other "Pathfinders" are concerned......well thats just the way Mass Effect goes not all can make it in an unknown galaxy lol.

I was pleasantly surprised with the way they ended this one fully leaving it open for either a massive DLC to end it all or left it wide open for a sequel (which I would much rather prefer, the Andromeda galaxy is far too big just to be left to one game). As far as DLC wise I would be happy if they brought the Quarian Ark into it and reveal to us the thing thats been chasing them so we can see a potential new villain for the next MEA2.

Now as far as gameplay wise go, I do and do not like the auto cover system as it can save your ass (both single player and multi-player) or it can leave you so open your ass is literally getting lit up by that one jackass with a powerful as hell assault rifle. I dislike the hovering so much I rarely if at all use it especially in Multi-player as the enemies will turn you into swiss cheese faster than you can hit that d-pad to heal yourself. Melee........I'm still up in the air about this as it seems far more flawed since ME3, no cover kills which really sucks especially since enemies aren't afraid to run up on your ass when your behind cover. Powers/Abilities, I absolutely love the new system, it turns you into what Shepard wishes he could have been at times.

Squad opinion.....there are a couple of useless people in your squad and a couple who make you wish you had an original to replace them with. I fell in love with Peebee (Asari), Jaal (Angara/New Alien race) and Drack (Krogan). I was actually pleased but disappointed with Vetra (Turian), because she just isn't your Turian best bud Garrus (damn I miss my sniper friend, my calibrators need calibrated lol). As for the others Cora and Liam.....they were just utterly useless in my opinion hell after the first planet I dropped one of them for Vetra, and then after Eos neither one saw a place on my team until I had to do their Loyalty missions, and then right back onto the bench! As for the crew of the Tempest........Suvi, Lexi, S.A.M., Kallo, and Gil, well I actually like them all in this game especially since you don't have to deal with a pilot thats head over heels in love with the ships A.I. this go around lol.

I agree wholeheartedly nice to see another fan of the series and not graphics alone. I'd say they set themselves up nicely for a sequel. I too would rather a sequel. Peebee is one of my favorite characters ever....maybe even more so than Liara. Hopefully they bring the quarian arc into the mix on the next one. Kinda unfair to compare vetra to garrus knowing no one will ever be that cool and that much of a bro but I see where you're coming from.

Yeah, I know it's not fair to compare the two but if their gonna stick you with a Turian in your squad, they at least gotta give that Turian some better......betterness? To run with the crew, to be honest I would have much rather have had the second Turian Pathfinder, Avitus Rix, as my Turian ass-whooper for this galaxy.

Agreed with Peebee, I honestly found her more useful than Liara (despite how much I loved her in the original trilogy). Her reactions and attitude towards everything in this game made it feel much more like what explorers would be like in this galaxy.

But by far my favorite squad mate in this game is Ryder's new best friend, Jaal Ama Darav, your Angara comrade, who you can definitely tell they tried hard as hell to make him your new Garrus, but make him his own unique character and to be honest they successfully pulled it off (albeit never will be Garrus lol).

But yeah they have to bring the Quarian arc into the game because of the message they received and also they got the Drell with them and we need the possibility of another Drell Assassin joining the crew lol.
