what if after the battle between hagoromo and hamura vs. kaguya, hamura was left in a far more weakened state then hagoromo and knowing he was dying split his chakara forming two entities (along the lines of what hagoromo did to the juubi) being ashura and indra mirroring himself and his brother but in the process ashura and indra lost their collective memories of when they were hamura so hagoromo told them he was their father to protect them, maybe this could be why even though kaguya knows they are reincarnations of ashura and indra she continues to compare them to hagoromo and hamura
