What we know about Zetsu and all of the significant things he has done to date:
-He was trusted with all of the akatsuki secrets including Pain’s true identity which would be his downfall in a fight if his opponent knew and also Tobi’s real identity and the real agenda of Akatsuki which is the Eye of the Moon Plan.
-Zetsu, or at least his white half, was created using cells from Hashirama Senju and plants as a medium.
-This could possibly mean the black half of Zetsu were created from the cells of Madara
-This is backed up from the evidence that Madara fought with Hashirama to collect his cells and use them for this specific purpose whilst at the same time using his own cells to construct the other half of Zetsu for a Yin/Yang relationship
-Black Zetsu is more serious and knowledgeable while White Zetsu is carefree and easygoing
-Zetsu acts like a spy for the organizations and doesn’t directly fight but specializes more in tactics, sabotage and devouring bodies of deceased Akatsuki members to retain information about the organization
-This is furthered by Zetsu’s almost perfect infiltration technique to absorb the chakra of another individual and copy them right down to the chakra signature
-The original White Zetsu composed of Hashirama cells was seen to kill Saskue
-White Zetsu before his death attached white spores onto Kabuto so like Orochimaru leaving apart of himself behind can use it to come back to life at the right time
Zetsus’ Ablities (White and Black Zetsu separately)
-Both White and Black Zetsu can use the Mayfly technique which allows them to quickly merge with the ground itself and travel to a new location
-Zetsu also has the ability to record things as shown when he said he recorded the fight of Itachi and Saskue.
-Zetsu is also a powerful sensory ninja who noted Naruto and Killer B from a long distance away that they were leaving where ever they were hiding.
-Zetsu can split in two so both his personalities can act independently
-White Zetsu has been shown to absorb charka from another individual and transform himself into an exact replica of the person right down to the chakra signature. However they are much weaker than the original
-White Zetsu is able to use a spore technique to grow into a mushy mass around several individuals at once, thereby sucking their chakra out, and can even use it to replenish another persons' chakra.
-White Zetsu is also able to make multiple clones of himself shown through the army of 100,000 white zetsus
-White Zetsu can use Mokuton (Wood Release) on a much weaker scale of Hashirama
-Black Zetsu can turn some of his body parts into roots to converse with White Zetsu for almost instant communication
Overall I think White Zetsu will be back, absorb Kabuto in some sort of way and continue Edo Tensei himself or simply find a way to use Kabuto who is stuck in a almost infinite inzanmi.
If i've left anything about please post it so i can add it to the thread to work out what exactly Zetsu's purpose in Akatsuki and the show from this point
